Just had my Rustic bedroom set delivered which includes:
Tallboy
Chest
2 bedside tables
And mirror (free)
I couldn't be more happier, the quality of this oak is superb and looks fantastic in my cottage. I've just waxed all the pieces of furniture and its now ready to take clothes, lamps etc.
I really don't understand the negativity/complaints. I would recommend these guys to anyone wanted affordable solid oak wood that looks amazing.
I also ordered the rustic wardrobe which didn't fit up the stairs. It was returned but I had to pay £50 for this service as I should have measured the stair case to make sure furniture would fit. I accepted this although I did think £50 was a little excessive.
Quick efficient service: told me delivery would be 6 weeks. Only took 3.5 weeks. Not bad at all0 -
its quite easy to have negativity
I was blacklisted for receiving rubbish nest of tables--split and scraped
sent a replacement set which had a 2" split up one leg
this was also returned---took 3 weeks for refund
result--still stuck with remainder of matched order AND OVER insurance
had a phone call 9/5/2013 from Iain Cochrane --customer services, who offered a workaround the blacklisting and a £50 discount
who promised to deliver a GOOD set of tables,checked/vetted by him personally, that would be guaranteed delivered by 30/5/2013
GUESS WHAT---NO DELIVERY--NO CONTACT----hows that for negativity?????
now to get £100 refund
update
received email this afternoon --delay was explained to me ?
I was told it would be on hold till he returned from holiday today---I must have got it wrong???? about 21st>30th May guaranteed delivery to my house--Iain will get back to me by close of business today !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I await with total excitement---just like Xmas---if you believe that!

Hi
I WOULD NOT ADVISE ANYONE TO BUY FROM THIS COMPANY
I would never use this company again..........I purchased a very expensive bed which was delivered scratched. When reporting this issue the "customer services" employee was to say the least difficult so much so that I decided to treat the scratch myself and learn from it. However the bed then bit by bit collapsed underneath. Again I put up with it having had such a bad experience but eventually it simply fell apart, I did report this and again was met by rude, aggressive "customer services" agents who I think are NOT trained in CS but in trying to wangle out of positively addressing the issue.......basically they refused to help because Id had it a year and it was out of warranty. Fortunately I am trained in Law so I raised the fact that there are statutory rights (which say an item must be fit for purpose and of merchantable quality) - at this they became REALLY aggressive. In short I would have to take them to court to get any redress. I posted a "review" on their website but they haven't loaded it (they only load positive reviews!!). As lovely as their furniture looks - and as good as they are at selling it - its NOT QUALITY furniture and its when things go wrong that you need support and good customer care and they definitely fail in this area. AVOID THIS COMPANY0 -
We also bought a bed from this company and it had various faults/scratches etc when it was delivered. However I must say that I found their customer services team really helpful. They didn't quibble at all. We sent them some photos of the damage etc and they arranged for an independent inspection. The inspector came a few days later and agreed it was unacceptable. Customer services offered us the choice of a full refund, £100 partial refund or a replacement.
We chose the replacement, which arrived a week or two later and is a huge improvement. No problems at all with the 2nd bed, can only assume we got a duff one to begin with.
Their customer service people were really helpful and sorted out our problems with the minimum of fuss.
Would I buy from them again? Not sure, but I can't really fault their customer services team.0 -

Hmm...one post....praising....spam alertI refer to my byline below ...
Ad hominem
An attack upon an opponent in order to discredit their arguement or opinion. Ad hominems are used by immature and/or unintelligent people because they are unable to counter their opponent using logic and intelligence.0 -
ordered 4 items , delivered within a week.
Accepting that solid wood will vary in its grain - Very happy with 3 items (at this stage), but a few problems with one item, after 2 visits from a repairer solved most faults but it was not looking like they could make this last item perfect.
Contact with customer services has however been great- very apologetic and they ring back when as promised.
We appear to have come to an acceptable compromise (small discount), to avoid the hassle of further tradesmen appointments / full exchange.Any posts on here are for information and discussion purposes only and shouldn't be seen as (financial) advice.0 -
I got the best solid oak dresser brand new from the British heart foundation furniture shop. It was £170, the exact same one at oak furniture half price was £320 so needless to say I helped a charity and opted for the BHF one with free delivery.0

Just used this site to buy an oak table and four chairs and a nest of oak tables. Whilst overall I am happy with the goods, the table has a small dent on the top near the long edge which must have happened in transit, and one of the chairs has a minor defect on the edge of one of the back legs. Had to add photos to their website (a pain because it only deals with all the items and not just the damaged items) showing all defects and in relationship to size of damage. Replacements will also be a pain because you have to keep original packaging to send stuff back which can give you storage problems, as these boxes cannot be flat-packed and easily tucked away in case of. Also it means dismantling a heavy table and legs before they can take it back, so not easy for me at my age with just the wife to help. Then, of course, the replacement has to be reassembled. Quality is fine, though I doubt it will last as long as our previous Ducal suite. But then it cost around half the price of the Ducal, so no complaints there. Chairs are cheap enough to replace if needs be. I just hope Oak Furniture Land make sure the replacements are faultless, because I will be 'On The Case' if they are not. Just to point out, I had four Ducal tables delivered before the shippers delivered without any transit damage. So, Oak Furniture Land be aware of this. Not sure I would use them again for this reason.0

Just as an aside: I paid by credit card so under section 75 of the credit card act I can make a claim via my credit card bank which I will most certainlt do if nothing is forthcoming in the next few days. I'm not the type to mess around arguing about these issues and would very likely just do what I have to do to get proper redress without question. I never see the point of getting angry over these issues, but I do expect a swift and efficient answer to them. Fortunately I have enough money to take legal action if necessary.0

I so wish i'd seen all these comments before ordering a table... arrived with impact damage on 2 of the 4 corners. I cannot believe a company can, in this day and age, get away with not replacing something which arrives damaged. since when is it acceptable to have a damaged item you have bought in good faith as a new product repaired rather than replaced? appalling customer experience. BEWARE PEOPLE - DON'T GO ANYWHERE NEAR - HOWEVER ATTRACTIVE THE PRODUCT IN THE SHOWROOM. very very angry at the way we have been treated. Alice Hunt. Donna Mills. Dave Walling. Ann (on behalf of Jason Bannister). Customer service - really?0
