We have popcorn every friday night - make it in a pan though!
Generally use Lyles Golden Pouring Syrup, but also maple syrup (that's a bit runnier than the Lyles.
Also a little icing sugar sprinkled over when hot is lovely.
Alternatively if I just want a quick healthy(ish) snack I'll put in some grated cheese - gives it a whole new dimension.
And quick tip - I sometimes find the popping corn hard to get hold of but they have it in most health shops.0 -

Hi,
My wife and i use caster sugar. it seems to stick better. But you could always try melting some real butter in the microwave and pouring that over. or use honey just pour over again.
Good luck and enjoy:jYou can have everything you wont in lfe, If you only help enough other people to get what they wont.:j0 -
Hi sunshine,
There's an earlier thread with lots of advice on flavouring homemade popcorn that may help so I've added your thread to it to keep the replies together.

Don't take the lid off though until they've stopped popping as the heat escapes and slows down the process. I usually end up with a few that fail to pop in the bottom but the rest come out lovely and fluffy and none of them are burnt
All this time, *that's* where I have been going wrong  DOH! Always left the ehat on medium and lots of shaking... Thanks CQ for the tip, and here comes much nicer popcorn!
Interested to try a parmesan version - any suggestions welcome - I guess very finely grated parmesan over the finished popcorn whilst hot? Very sticky though...MFW #185

Has anyone tried Nigella's party popcorn recipe with cinnamon, cumin and paprika, salt and sugar?
