HM Popcorn?

Hi all
I decided to make some popcorn last night and I used a tiny bit of coconut oil to get the corns popping in the pan. They have a really delicate taste of coconut now which is yummy. It got me thinking about what other flavours would work well with popcorn apart from the standard sugar, syrup and salt. Any ideas anyone?
They are so much cheaper and must be more healthier for you than crisps - I kept some in an airtight tub and have brought them to work today with my packed lunch and they are still nice and crunchy and not at all soft.
Looking forward to hearing your suggestions?

I sprinkle Chilli powder over popcorn (for the adults). 1st time I tried it I was a bit heavy handed:eek: , but practice makes perfect. My 3 year old loves his plain.

I'll be watching this thread with interest as I'm pretty boring and just sprinkle sugar on mine
I like the idea of cooking in a flavoured oil though!"An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will"

How about....
Garlic and lemon?
Honey and chopped nuts?
Rosemary and garlic?
Parmesan and olive oil/pesto?
I suppose any flavour you can buy as kettle chips would work.

Mmm garlic and rosemary sounds good - may try that tonight.
Can you do fruit flavoured? If you chopped up some apples/pears in a bit of oil to flavour the oil and then cooked the popcorn in that? I wonder...[size=-2]Remember its nice to be nice and its good to share!

I don't know HOW to add the flavours, unless like you say, you cook them in flavoured oil. If I add syrup or butter etc, I find that some of it is too thick with it and some of it is still dry.
Am I doing something wrong?
I love the idea of chilli popcorn... A good snack for dieting I think.May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0 -
i love a sprinkling of cinnamon in the oil when i do popcorn, is lovely and warming.0

Any more sweet ideas please (not too fattening tho!) as I don't like savoury/salted popcorn and I like to have it as a sweet treat as it's a much healthier option to cakes/biscuits etc, even if I do sprinkle a teaspoonful of caster sugar over a big panful!
... shared between two of us though!
