If you like sweet popceorn, make the popcorn as normal, then melt some sugar slowly in a pan until it goes golden and pour over the popcorn. BE CAREFUL IT WILL BE VERY VERY HOT. It will go hard like toffee
To clean the pot, soak in hot water to dissolve the sugar again (it really goes rock solid)
wow u guys are quick thanks!!
is this how they make it at the cinema then?, cos I am not too keen on the butterksist popcorn and thats kind of toffee like??0 -

I brought back some 'sprinkles' from USA one time for popcorn and have since ordered more online from http://www.kernelseasons.com/
There are about a dozen flavours and they ship to UK no problem.0 -
I do the same as TKP and it's delicious.
I'd love to do butter but find that as it melts it makes the popcorn go soggy!Oh dear, here we go again.0 -
I like to put a bit of cinnamon powder in with the butter, gives the popcorn a gorgeous flavour.0

i was given a popcorn maker a while ago and it is so simple to make plain popcorn. Great as I was always burning bits of popcorn to the bottom of pans. If you eat a lot of it then a popcorn maker is the best way to make itnow mum of 4!!!0

If you don't want to buy a popcorn maker, just use the microwave oven!
Put the kernel inside a vented container (mine is a plastic one) and turn on the microwave. My microwave is 950w and it usually takes about 90 seconds. Or, just turn it off when popping sound of the popcorn stops. No oil needed.
Then you can add whatever you like onto the popcorn.
One thing to note, make sure not to put more than a single layer of kernel in the container.

I put the salt in with the oil, heat it up and then add popcorn, it means it gets salty all over but stays dry, no greasy butter all over, I'm sure you can do the same with sugar, it tastes as good as any cinema popcorn.0
