I have a couple of ways with our popcorn, sometimes i melt a large knob of butter in the microwave, pour it over the popcorn and then sprinkle over a few tablespoons of sugar, give it a stir and then eat!!!!
I also sometimes melt a knob of butter and a tablespoon of golden syrup together and then pour that on, both ways taste lovely!!!!0 -
so pleased you asked this op. We bought I cheap popcorn maker from superdrug (£2.50!!) and so far I've been sprinkling a bit of icing sugar over it, but it doesn't really stick to the popcorn that well and you end up with a big pile of sugar in the bottom of the bowl.
I'll have to try some of these ideas0 -
To make any flavouring stick to the popcorn you need melted butter(or marge).I suppose oil might work but wouldn't taste as good.
Before my dd came along with her allergy to peanuts I used to melt butter, peanut butter and maple syrup together and toss popcorn in it-not to everyone's taste but I loved it.0 -
Honey and butter melted together in the pan, then poured over... I might try maple syrup. I love it but so pricey usually- just found some organic stuff at Sainsburys at the clearance price of £1.39- bought 5 bottles!0

Hi people
Ive just made a lovely bowl of plain popcorn, hubby and kids have asked me to make it sweet (like the shops).........
so how do they get the popcorn coated toffee ? and its dry so you can pick it up ?
any popcorn ideas much appreciated;)Kindness costs nothing0 -
a drop or two of honey always does the trick in our house xx0

Not quite the same but I cook the popcorn in a pan, turn the heat off and pour out into a big bowl.
Then put a tablespoon of golden syrup into the pan (this should bubble and go toffee coloured) just be careful though as once my pan was too hot and I ended up with a black stinky mess!
Then pour the pocorn back into the pan and stir to roughly coat the popcorn - quite sticky unlike shop bought stuff but lovely anyway0 -
sounds yum kate might give it a go0

butter and brown sugar melted together in a pan until the sugar dissolves and then the popcorn stirred in.0

we do equal amounts of butter and golden syrup - don't know if it would set cos it never lasts that long -I'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 20080
