HM Popcorn?

I use 2 tbsp of oil and 2 tbsp of corn. Put all in a cold pan with a lid. Turn heat to medium-high and wait for popping. Turn heat down slightly as popping subsides as it can burn easily. When popping has stopped toss popcorn with melted butter and sugar/golden syrup/maple syrup/parmesan/spices or just have plain with a little salt -much less messy0

If you want to be really healthy you can cook it in a non-stick pan with no butter or oil. Works perfectly well, tastes lovely when fresh and warm, but somehow popcorn's always nicer when cooked in butter and salt.:p0

No butter or oil!
It just burns the corn and it doesn't pop properly. the only way I can cook it is "naked" - just corn, no butter until its all popped and off the heat.0 -
I make popcorn in the microwave.
Put a small amount (2 tablespoons ish) into the bottom of a very large mixing bowl (I use pyrex as I know its safe to use in the micro.
Cover the bowl with clingfilm (leave it slightly loose but sealed, if that makes sense)
Put in the micro, on full for 2-2.5 mins. Keep an eye on it, and when the popping slows down its nearing time to turn it off. Its possible to burn the popcorn if its cooked too long, so I wouldn't leave it alone.
Alternatively, but a bag of butterkist microwave popcorn, and use that!

My kids love popcorn, but don't know how to recreate the cinemas style sweet popcorn.
I don't want the toffee one, just a slight sweet taste.
Tried adding icing sugar once cooked, but sort of made the popcorn a bit dry.
Any suggestions or ideas.

Hi, just wondering if there is an OS way to make popcorn wihout the need for a popcorn maker? What type of corn do you use? Sorry if that sounds thick but i have no idea! x0

Large deep sauce pan, a little oil to cover the bottom, heat till almost smoking, drop in small hands full of corn and lid on quickly. After a few minutes and lots of small explosions remove from heat and take out popcorn. Repeat till you've got enough. We used to buy special popping corn. This is an open forum, anyone can post and I just did !0

hi
I made some the other day in the microwave.
Put some popping corn (cheap from health food shops) in a large bowl (I used a clear glass one to see the corn pop) cover with a plate and turn on
Watch until most of popping stops then take out and eat. SIMPLE N YUMMY
Becareful not to leave in too long or it can burn just take out when most of popping stops.
Have fun!lots of small stepswill get you a long waybsc 1400
