Toffee Popcorn recipe
4 quarts popped corn ...........whats a quart?
2 sticks (1 cup) butter .........???????????
1 cup white corn syrup .............white corn starch????????????
the above is part of a recipe for toffee popcorn.
Could someone help with my questions in red please?0 -
It looks like an American recipe. A quart is 2 pints, Cups are often used in US recipes, I would use a medium drinking mug. I guess any syrup would do, not corn starch though. This is an open forum, anyone can post and I just did !0

A US pint is 16 fl oz (2 US cups), so a US quart is 32 fl oz or just over 1 and a half UK pints, or 1 litre more or less

2 sticks of butter or 1 cup = 8oz (227g)
corn syrup -you can't get here -I'd use golden syrup too;) corn starch is the same thing as cornflour so don't use that!
Basically melt a load of butter and add something sweet -sugar, golden syrup, maple syrup, honey and you'll get something tasty to pour on your popcorn.0
