Switch was completed today, with my DD taken from my old account all five of them, like others I hope this will be sufficient as I don't have any more to add to the account now its switched, unless I cancel Tesco and re set up the DD...

    Come on...
    It's just extra 16p gross.
No, the gain would be on the TSB a/c so it's 27p. If you're going to apply anyway, why delay a day? It's like delaying posting a birthday card so that you then have to shell out the difference for a 1st class stamp :)

Can I ask how easy was the swith for those that did so? How long did it take.

I've been with Halifax my entire life (my mum opened me an account when I was 11). But they've closed all their local brances which makes it an effort to put money in my own acount and they've reduced all their interest rates. I do all my banking with the one account (all bills etc come out of the same account), and also have an online saver with Halifax as I can just transfer to it online from my main account in seconds.

TSB has a branch local to me so this is tempting but I'm nervous of switching as I've always assumed it would be a big hassle.

Switching accounts is really no big deal, all the ones I've done have gone exactly as planned with no hiccoughs at all. Will confess however, never switch an account that I use on a regular basis and would think twice if it was my one and only current account. I would suggest to you that you open up your TSB account without switching your Halifax to it . Many advantages in this modern life in having at least 2 accounts with different institutions.

    Thanks.

Sorry to sound dim but what are the benefits to having two accounts?

Switching takes 7 working days to complete and there is a redirection attached for 30? months after switching so any credits to the old account are diverted...

If you think you will gain from TSB, then go an open an account then if successful switch your halifax account, but maybe not too close to your DD coming out as it may cause a little issue...

Whilst that may or may not be a benefit to Rev, in the context of Ceredigion's statement, and Rev's subsequent question, the benefits to having at least two accounts are simply to gain access to funds should one of the providers' systems be down. Think recent RBSG issues!

How long before the switch cashback is added? My first direct one came in just a day after switch completed!

A bit curious about this deal, but I have a rather novice question. It says in the T&Cs regarding:
    "Eligibility
To qualify for the offer you must:
    a. Open a new Classic Plus account by 2 November 2015 and switch to TSB using the Current Account Switch Service by the 23 November 2015
    b. Transfer all active credits and debits from your old account and close it
    c. Pay at least £500 into your new TSB account within 28 days of the switch completing and register a minimum of 2 active Direct Debits"

Just wanted to clarify what "b. Transfer all active credits and debits from your old account and close it" mean?

Does this mean I need to transfer any credit cards as well that I have set up though my existing current account or most likely something else?

    Thanks!
