Possibly stupid question; the T+Cs say:

"Credit at least £500 to your new TSB account within 28 days of the switch completing and register a minimum of 2 active Direct Debits"

Is it OK if there are two direct debits on the existing account, or is this a sneaky way of demanding two *new* direct debits?

I read this as setting up dds on the account within 28 days of the switch i.e. after the switch.

If they were to be included with the switch I think it would have been mention in the separate paragraph regarding the requirement to switch an account.

I have a classic plus account already (infact 2) so I checked my TSB statement to see if I was given an incentive to join back in March 2014. I cannot see any incentives paid in. Does that mean I am eligible for the incentive if I switch and open a new account with TSB?
Conditions 4 & 6 of the incentive T&Cs would seem to exclude you. However, do let us know if you manage to circumvent them won't you.
  • Do you get an account number instantly? If not, I'll delay until tomorrow.

It was at the end of application IIRC. And by a e-mail the same or the next day.
    What difference does this make?

Don't take my word for this, but I read this that 2 DDs have to be set up - either new or switched.

Unless it's a deliberate trap, it makes absolutely no sense to stipulate new DDs to be set up after switching.

I was going to transfer £2000 from my San 123 a/c because someone on this board said funds transferred after about 8.20pm have already earned interest for that day.

Just applied and accepted, internet banking already in place.

Have set up x2 DD which will be pulled on Nov 3rd, so will start the switch from then.

Just hope you don't have to set up the DD's after the switch as the wording is very strange.

No, you need a code coming by snail mail to activate it.
