  • Hullo all!!

Hope all is well, feeling jolly tired today, flew back from New York yesterday afternoon (their time) so landed at 7.10am today, and only managed to snatch half an hours kip on the plane so just waiting for another hour or so and then going to crash out good and proper!

Can't believe that the summer is nearly over, if you can call it that of course. Just 2 weeks and I've got to stop being a traveller and start doing "normal" stuff :( although it will all be new as I am currently unemployed having quit my job for travelling, so need to get a new one (hopefully the pub I worked in will take me back) and I also start college on 10th September! Scary stuff! Really looking forward to it all though, new start, no more 70+ hour working weeks!

Will be needing old style more than ever then as will need to stretch my pennies as far as possible what with having a flat to keep and being a full time student. Really frustrating as I can't get any financial help until I go to uni. Oh well, sure I'll be fine.

AND I'm really excited as it's my birthday in 3 weeks time!! AND I will lose another debt after October!:j

Hugs to everyone and will be in touch again soon to resume my place in OS!!xoxox

Welcome back MrsMicawber, you've been missed.
Is Germany proving to be as cheap as you expected? DD4 and a friend were in Kiel and Lubeck for the weekend, preferred Lubeck I think, not sure how they managed, they haven't a word of German between them!

If it makes you happy Frogga, I can be your 'Irish grandmother'...my Japanese friend calls me her Irish mother, so welcome to the gang...as my eldest grandchild you will have a lot of responsibility so hope that you are prepared for it!

Our barbecue was lovely, OH 'stole' some apples of the cooker tree and baked them with sugar and cloves while he was cooking the rest of the food...love baked apples. Don't have very much lettuce at the moment so am picking rocket, small spinach leaves, mint and chicory..makes a nice salad.

Hope that you all have a pleasant evening

    Hi there meanmarie

Some stuff is really cheap but at the moment veg seems quite dear.....and me n hubby eat loads of it:rolleyes: .... still i have done a couple of shops in different supermarkets....its the huge selection of everything that amazes me... some of the stuff they have for baking is amazing (dont worry folks, if i find anything i dont think you can get in the UK i will let you know!!) but still think im going to be visiting ALDI/LIDL:rotfl: .... ive decided to do the £60 for a months shopping challenge with another member...... just to see if i can:p ..... all the bills come straight out of hubbies wage so i only need house keeping for the food... hubby has asked if 500 euro will be ok:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: now if he thinks im gonna spend about £375 on food for 2, he really doesnt know me:p ... so im on a mission to see how much of that i can save every month:j ... so im sure i will be on here loads....

  • Evening all,

sorry i haven't been around for a while.

Well after finally plucking up the courage to go and register my pregnancy with the GP I have now been booked in for an emergancy scan in the morning.
I had the odd spotting episode earlier in my pregnancy and didnt see the point in going to the gp as they cant do anything anyway!
I was feeling quite possitive about the whole thing as it was never red or heavy spotting and i have had it with all three previous pregnancies.
Now i'm scared to death there is going to be something wrong tomorrow.
I know i need to know one way or the other, and he did say i will still get my 12 week scan so i wont miss out on that if there is not much to see tomorrow, but still nervous as hell and know i am not going to sleep tonight.
Thanks for listening to the rant and fingers crossed for 8.40 tomorrow morning please.

Alibob - hope you got the good news you wanted and was finally given that finishing line date!

Dogrose - congratulations i'm so envious!

Jcr - How's the pregnancy going? hope all is well with you.

Mrs mix - really hope dd is well.

Catznine - sorry i wasnt around yesterday but i hope you had a wonderful birthday xx

Hugs to everybody else who needs them, and a well done pat on the back to all those who unlike me managed to do more than sit on their backsides all day xx

    Welcome back Mrsmcawber
Hugs to all those in need
Especially Pooky, another example of one rule a one hospital & a different rule at another, a neighbour of ours had fertility on the NHS as her new partner hadn't any of his own, the 8 children she already had with assorted other partners didn't count!!!

  • with no success. They are nailed together and there doesn't seem to be any way of getting them off with the tools we have.
  • Pooky,

I am so sorry if i seemed insensitive at all with my post, i skim read the previous 3 pages and didnt notice the situation you were in and in no way meant to rub anything in your face.

The nhs is a shambles to most people and i'm sure you are more deserving that alot of people.

I dont know your individual circumstances but i wish you all the best and hope you find a way to resolve the problems with the incompitant british health service.

Just a bit of reassurance. Please get medical advice. DD had bleeding very early doors with second and third boys. All down to coloscopy clinic and treatment. Boys here now safe and well. Early bleeding in pregnancy a worry. She still has an erosion which needs more treatment.

We were in the midst of huge wedding preps when she had probs with DGS2 . Everything turned out OK on the day but might not have. We thought she was miscarrying the day we wrote and were sending wedding invitations.

Take as much medical advice as you can get.
