Hi, this is the Daily Thread for today. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Good morning everyone :j Watching the weather forecast, and looks like we might be in line for some sunshine :T :j Some time in the garden today, I think.

Took the Small Penguins out for a long bike ride yesterday - DD was complaining of being saddle sore   Came back to drop scones and coffee - think they might request that again today.

DD spent all afternoon making a handbag using flowery fabric and a handle from this company. It looks good - think I might try one.

I put a red rinse on my hair (it's called Chilli) and DD did me a blow dry - I love it!

Have some bolognaise sauce in the SC - lasagne for tea, and DD has asked if she can make a nectarine creme brulee.

Have a great day, Penny. x

Good morning PenPen and everyone else who follows!

The wind and my new meds have me up-you wouldn't believe that the Dr said I might lay in late this morning, would you? Well I'm here now!!

Too early to even think what we're up to today, involves spare room clearing and the tip, I know that much! We're getting there with the room, and I'm hoping that having it painted by Monday is not just a pipe dream!

Am going to stick the kettle on and perhaps the breadmaker too, then curl up on the sofa with a blanket... if I fall asleep, it's not my fault, blame the meds, haha!

My hamster is still up, she's such a dirty stop out! She gave me such a strange look when I appeared in the living room-she'll need to get used to it as I'll be up at 6am in less than 2 weeks for my new job!

Have a great day everyone x

I've dropped hubby at the station, the bin is out & so is the recycling.
i've had breakfast & am sat here with my second cuppa, I have one more photo to take & then I will start my ebay listings.
I'm meeting a friend for lunch today so I'll have a look in some different charity shops for some more books to read.
Hope everyone has a good day

Morning. Hi AMIE. I had no idea you were coming to Cornwall... Pity I only live astones throw from EDEN and have some free vouchers you could have had.... I was too busy working on the Newquay fire anyway...

Day off today I think. I will get some phone calls from work anyway... But that's all I will do, I was supposed to be off all week, but events changed that. I think we are boot sale today, a big one. I don't care much for them, but I might find a book or fishing rod or something. The kids like it.

WE seem to have more pets!!!! I came home from work and the house had grown by one rabbit and one hamster. I hear a guinea pig may also be coming.... WHY????

Well I have a million things to do. The grass is 8 feet high now and the veggies, well..... forget them.

    Cheers

    Morning

Bright but cool here today, so have designated today as washing day. Just hope it stays dry long enough

Taking my sister to see my new dgd later, so looking forward to that - apparently she hasn't got the hang of sleeping at nights at all, don't want to mention that her daddy didn't have a single nights sleep until he was 2

Feel a bit like a wet lettuce as didn't get much sleep, but have lots to do so will have to wake myself up with a walk with the dog.

Hope everyone has a good day x

Good morning all you early risers,

36 weeks pregnant today! I can almost see the finish line! I have a consultants appointment today and should finally have a date for the c-section, I think i'll feel better once I know. I really must pack my hospital bag - I think about doing this 5 times a day and still haven't done it, I think i'm in denial!
Smelly doggy is off to the groomers this morning, I swear we spend more on her hair cuts than we do on the 3 of us.

Its really windy here today, i've not actually got up from bed to have a look out of the window but I can hear it, so will try and get some washing done and on the line.

General chores to do today, I found some energy and did the ironing and then hoovered and mopped the whole downstairs so its not looking too terrible today.
Will call the hospital to check on my Dad this morning, my sister went to visit yesterday and said that he looked great and was chatting away, he's been moved from ITU to HDU and will go to a general ward this afternoon, the hospital have been fantastic. Its looking like he'll be home on Friday.

    Breakfast - cereal
    lunch - Sandwiches perhaps?
Dinner - i'm off out for a final fling with my friend so I don't care what DH eats i'll be out!

Have a fantastic day all, hope that the early risers get some more sleep!
  • Good Morning all!

(((HUGS))) to those who need one; don't trip over the stack.

Got the neighbours coming over tomorrow for dinner; going to make a moroccan chicken dish (recipe is on here somewhere already) and then panna cotta for dessert. Do you know, it will be the first time i will have bought gelatin here?? Just realized that!

Very windy + rainy here today; going to finish off the x stitch and then another as well. Start on a 3rd. DH going to the store for the food for tomorrow night.

Going to make stock tomorrow as well; our butcher gets his chickens in today and gives away the bones.

Asparagus soup today for lunch; the leftover lamb with roasted squash for dinner.

GLad to see that you're doing so well, JackieO!

And HAPPY BIRTHDAY to anyone who's b-day is today and HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, too.

    morning!!

just "won" a half price holiday with easyjet. three of us for half term to majorca £270..thats the good news. the bad news is I have just checked the hotel that I had in my basket at the time, and the reviews are not good. But we tend to only use hotels as somewhere to sleep. So should be OK as long as it is clean. a lot of the complaints were that the resort is too quiet, but we have been there before and its lovely. really spanish with the old ladies sitting out at nights in their chairs etc.

today its back to work time, where did my long weekend go?
