Hello everyone...

I have a problem with Royal Mail and apologies if this post is in the wrong location.

This is how it goes.

I sold a Seagate Momentus 500GB laptop hard drive on eBay for a total of £24 (£19 for the item and £5 postage). It was posted by 1st Class Recorded as were 3 other similar items that I had sold on eBay. It is now 8th of October and they still have not delivered it and even though I have called Royal Mail repeatedly, they have done nothing but procrastinate and call me a liar repeatedly. I have received a refund request from the buyer and eBay have told me not to refund the buyer and he has been trying to bully me in to issuing it. I have also been told that I would have to file a claim for the item being "lost" but I suspect it was probably stolen, and once I make that claim, I will have to wait 30 DAYS for an answer meanwhile, I am out £24, not that they care. If this isn't outrageous, I honestly do not know what isn't.

This is one of the biggest jokes I have ever had to deal with and of all times, very soon after I find out that my mother has passed away.

Help and advice please!! At wits end!

I find it hard to believe that Ebay have told you not to issue a refund, or why RM have any need to call you a liar. You are not out of £24 your buyer is, just refund him and claim back from RM.

I too find the ebay comment hard to believe.

What does the RM track and trace website show?

Did you actually mean "not" or was it a typo for "now"?

    Persecution complex? All very familiar.

OP you have been told what to do, claim for your losses from RM and refund the buyer. All pretty simple, no?

So you called RM repeatedly. For what end?
You have to wait the timescale you agreed when you chose the service.
RM whilst responsible for your parcel, cannot be held liable for your mother.

Oh my god, assumptions plastered all over the replies here.

I never said I should hold RM "responsible" for my mother. I pointed it out as just another stressful thing I have to deal with and all of this does not help in any way.

I do not agree with some people on this board going wild about "familiarities" when that was fully explained repeatedly in my other threads, so please stop making me out to be stupid and keep that to yourself.

I am not however content with having to wait a full 30 days so RM can procrastinate and deliberately delay any claim I make. It amazes me how they can get away with it, you do not need a PhD in physics to know that the package was as RM have said "lost" or in my view stolen.

As for my claim of RM calling me a liar, I was accused on the first 4 calls I made about this of never posting the item, the tracking number proves I did (*************). Does that settle this absurd statement?

That's because I am not a business seller. I sell items I am not using, I don't run a shop...

HOW DARE YOU ACCUSE ME OF THAT, IGNORANT OR WHAT!

As a side note, I have reported your post as being slanderous and libel.

I wonder who'll struggle to get further helpful replies in this thread?

The issue is that Signed For isn't as reliable a service as it should be.

Your parcel doesn't show as delivered.
    28/09/15 11:18 SENT AT POST OFFICE 77 - 87 Magdalen NR3 1AA

Therefore you must assume your buyer does not have the order. You need to refund that now.

Claim from Royal Mail for the loss of the parcel, but be aware, as SF doesn't always update, RM may turn down your claim as it may show as delivered on their intranet system.

Have a read of the postage sticky to assess how you should best send your parcels in future.

If thier intranet system shows as "delivered" then surely the buyer has committed fraud?

I am considering using UPS or DPD at this moment for sending the items I sell as I have a personal account, as for wondering who will struggle to get replies is not my fault. Blame "Hermione Granger" for accusing me of fraud when I was not doing anything wrong having a personal account. and How did this user get my eBay user ID? I did not publish it anywhere did I? Remove it please.

Perhaps the user is the buyer? If so, this is slanderous.
