The package may have been lost, delivered to the wrong address, stolen or mislaid in the sorting office, and whilst none of these things are your fault, as the seller it is your responsibility to ensure that your customer doesn't lose out financially and by doing so in good time will help make sure that they don't leave neg feedback on your selling account.
You just said what I have been trying to say for a long time.0 -
Sorry for your loss OP. And sorry you're being attacked by people who've got nothing better to do than pick you up on nitpicks and try to wind you up. Very sad. A, get and life springs to mind.
I should calm down as this only feeds the sharks in their frenzied attacks.
As already advised it's a good idea to apologise to the buyer and refund asap. I don't quite understand why RM should call you a liar as this is not good customer service and if this is true I would complain in writing to a higher level. Within 30 days is reasonable when you consider how large RM is and the amount of complaints they would have to deal with. Good luck.“Learn from the mistakes of others. You can never live long enough to make them all yourself.”

Triggerhappy, it's worth appreciating that "Signed For" service is NOT tracked at all throughout it's journey (nor do RM claim it is - read the T&Cs), so RM truly do have no idea where it is until such time as a record is made at the time of delivery (it is "signed for" by someone) and their system subsequently updated (though this is not instantaneous, or even the same (or next) day IME). I have Signed For deliveries that I know have arrived which have NEVER updated to "delivered" status on the RM system. It travels with the normal mail for that service (1st or 2nd class), not separately, nor is there any delivery time guarantee. That's why they want 30 days - they really do have to get someone to go search for it, most of the time it's not worth their effort and they'll just refund you after the 30 days.
If you use the service you should really appreciate how it works and what it's drawbacks and limits are. If they don't suit you then use another method - Special Delivery IS tracked throughout it's journey, travels separately to normal mail AND has a delivery time guarantee (next day).0 -
Have you now put in your claim to RM? The (up to) 30 days does not start until you do.
Keep your claim details simple - I posted the parcel on x date and it has not arrived. Do not start allocating blame or threatening court action, it is irrelevant and distracts from your case.
Then give them their thirty days. Unless the parcel turns up in the meantime there is no need to contact them before this time has passed.0 -
I have called RM, they don't have a separate signature to saying it was delivered. What are my next steps, and pendragon_arther, saying "get a life" is making fun of my situation, why is that appropriate?

Can't till tomorrow... GRRRRR!0 -
Your next steps are simple.
1. Refund your buyer
2. Make a grovelling apology to your buyer and hope they don't give you bad feedback
3. Fill in the online claim form to get your compensation from RM (see link below)

I refunded him 12 hours ago, no response yet and no feedback received.
I sent him a full apology in 2 messages as the space I was given was not enough as there is a character limit.0 -
