They have fibre broadband with Sky.

You missed my point : They are suggesting broadband should available without landline, which is not technically possible except via satellite (very expensive) or mobile,as there needs to be a means of delivering the product (ie copper, fibre or cable).

Someone on the Sky forum was told, today, that 80% of calls areto cancellations, at the moment.

Just received letter from Sky informing of price increase.

I've been using BT line rental, Sky Talk Freetime and Sky unlimited broadband for a number of years, with 18185. Broadband bills are £10pm and 18185 about £1pm, so a low user.

Just paid BT last month for line rental saver.

Will Sky add a broadband surcharge if I cancel Sky Talk and go to BT for calls?

If they didn't have a landline it would be more expensive for others to call them because they would be calling a mobile, I am particularly thinking of my 95 year old gran?!? Without a landline the home alarm wouldn't work, nor would the fax machine or am I still missing the point?!? :o

Didn't know it was available now, thought it was from 1st December 2015. I must look to see how much it costs?

It's not available now - it's available from December 1st. The previous poster has misunderstood.

If the Anytime extra package is going to cost you less than 18185 -why are you waiting til December ?

The new Anytime package which includes mobiles is not available till December 1st. They are currently on the current Anytime package which does not include mobiles.

    So they have to wait.

It doesn't say that on the Sky site.

By the description of the new package there is a link for current customers to log in.

As you are paying more, surely Sky wouldn't mind someone taking it early ?

I assumed you hadn't got the point, as after my explanation of needing a medium to transmit over, you commented that the person had fibre with Sky.

Spoke to a Sky representative online there now and they upgraded Mum & Dads package there and then and said it would be available within 4 hours.

I don't see any benefit in you waiting.

Thank you. :T :money:  :A

Mum and Dad are delighted as I have just phoned and spoke to Mum and explained everything to her. Now they will only need 18185 for calling mobile phone in the Republic of Ireland.
