You may need a different cable.
I and others have had that problem.
Look through this thread and you should come across what others used.

Who says that? BT or a USA sounding voice.
With the phone connected to the SPA3102 you should get a dial tone.0 -

IP is 0.0.0.0.Help me to help you :santa2:0

Not sure about it being 0.0.0.0.
But dont worry about that now at least you know the phone is connected and working.
Now connect the Ethernet cable from the SPA3102 to the router.
Then try the phone again to see what the IP is.
It should be something like 192.168.*.*
All this can be done through your browser but you need to know the IP of the device.
I am still not sure about it being a router too, but if the shop told you you can use it as a VOIP adapter without using the router but I am not so sure.
Out of interest what do you get if you put this into your browser:

keeps coming up with the four zeros I tried from the ethernet port on the router to both the ethernet port on the SP3102 & then the internet ethernet port on the SP3102Help me to help you :santa2:0

'problem loading page'
That's what I get when I tried typing in the ip you suggestedHelp me to help you :santa2:0 -
I am lost then, but this is what I would do.
Take out the old router and just use the new one and see if you can get it working, like I said before trying to connect two routers with one being and ADSL/modem router will not work.
Is there any way to disable the new router and leave the VOIP adapter side still working.
Again what do you get if you click this link:
http://192.168.0.1/
The old router or the new one? I think they are both trying to use the same address.'problem loading page'
That's what I get when I tried typing in the ip you suggested
What is the old routers address?
If you are not seeing the router and getting a 0.0.0.0 IP somthing is wrong.0 -
hmm... OK I did say what you mentioned to them but they assured me it is fine as it can be run as VOIP alone. I'll try and remove this router, guess it will need to be connect to the computer via ethernet as the wireless won't work.
BRB hopefully lol
Thanks againHelp me to help you :santa2:0 -
You are connecting the VOIP device to the router and NOT the PC in any way.
VOIP DEVICE ------------ ADSL/ROUTER --------- PHONE LINE TO BT SOCKET | | | | COMPUTER
All with wires no wireless.
Or if just using new deviceVOIP Phone ----- VOIP/MODEM/ROUTER----------------- ADSL through PHONE LINE | | | | | COMPUTER
