Yes thats ADSL (through a phone line)

Now do you have two devices to connect to the net? i.e. A router and a modem.

Or do you have one device a ADSL/MODEM thats what I am thinking you have. And I also think you will not be able to connect the new device to it.

But if the new device is also a ADSL/MODEM then that device should work on it's own.

If it is just a router then it will not work.

Also some VOIP providers can't be set up for use with some devices and only work using USB phones.
  • I only connect through this wireless through this one box. I assume it must be ADSL Modem. The VOIP box is a router and VOIP.

Have I purchased the wrong product...??

I think you need to go and look at what you have and if it's the correct hardware.

From here I can't be sure and it has taken us two pages to just get this far.

I suspect you don't have the right equipment.

This is what would work with ADSL (phone line)

    BT
    ADSL MODEM
    ROUTER/VOIP

    BT
    ADSL MODEM/ROUTER
VOIP adapter would work like a PAP2 if you have a 4 port router

    What will not work:

    BT
    ADSLMODEM/ROUTER
    VOIP ROUTER

    BT
VOIP ROUTER with no ADSL modem.
  • Yes, I think you have got it lol
The modem is an ADSL / Router
New device is Router / VOIP

    I need a ... ADSL Modem / VOIP ?

You need a device like a PAP2 if you have a ADSL MODEM/router at the moment with Ethernet ports.

You do not need another router.

    OR

You need a ADSL modem with no router and connect your new device to that modem.

Or at least that is what I think you need.
