Morning all. I've been MIA for nearly a week and haven't had a chance to read back so hugs etc where needed especially YSL.

This morning we have a man that can doing some work so I kind of feel I can't get on with anything particular now, and DH says hes going to be home by lunchtime, and DD and her partner will be descending on us later......and I'd really like to make a chocolate cake today.

So far I have sorted the fridge, done a meal plan for the week, got washing on the line and WUDUPA the breakfast dishes.

Still need at some point to:

    Hoover/sweep/mop through house
Sort out recycling etc for collection tomorrow
Cut the grass and weed the garden
    Make that chocolate cake
Prepare tea (toad in the hole)
Make sure the dogs are walked although DD has offered to do this

    Catch you all later.
Spend less now, work less later.

YL sweetie you have taken a big step by typing out your problems, that must have been difficult. We make so many plans subconcsiously in our heads and it is really hard when they don't come to pass and we know that they won't. That doesn't mean we an't be happy though, we just need to write a new script and find a new happy. I'm guessing you are also probably a similar age to me and thus in the dreaded 'peri' years, that does not help your mood. I am more than happy to chat with you either online (fb msg me or pm me on here and I'll give you my email) or in person. I cannot remember is you have told us DS1's exact needs but I bet there are forums or support groups out ther but that may not be the route you wish to take. Things can get better xx

I need to dry my hair and pop into the loft to fnd something then to my bread and the garden/painting - oh forgot to do the paperwork, ho hum.

    Morning all

YL - Huge hugs to you.

I managed a lie-in until 9am (although I was awake on and off from 6am) but DD is still in bed. I've been in and opened her curtains so she can wake up in her own time but sometimes before midnight :rotfl: I've seen to the dog, put a wash load on and now I'm going to sit and play some games online and read some bookmarked things until DD emerges.

Plan for today is laundry, and maybe some baking but I'm not sure. There's a bake sale after half term in school and twinks have been requested so I may leave baking for a little while. But then the fruit for my christmas cake has been soaking in lemon juice for about a month if not longer now so that should really be done :o I'm going to play it by ear today, as long as DDs uniform is done then thats all that matters.

SD boule is now hopefully rising, I really want to master bread making, need to watch some more videos I think.

Could not find what I wanted in the loft but brought down a whole pile of DS2&1's old clothes, DS3 wanted one sports top, the rest is now in a sack for CS. Aim to get one box of stuff sorted from the loft each week, doesn't sound much but by next summer that would be 40 boxes! Found a ski jacket for DS3 plus winter gloves etc up there.

Painting next or it will never get done.

Hugs and gentle support to everyone who needs it especially YL, sorry to hear things are getting you so down at the mo I do hope things improve.

Been for a mooch round the boot this morning got some stuff but lots was for other people so won't hang around.
Dropped dd3s broken wm off at the tip on the WA back and helped collect her shiny new one from the shops yesterday.
Going to change the beds now and make a start on dinner, then a bit of gardening.

YL I don't know if this will help, but I heard a radio programme the other day about how constuctive, helpful and positive 'virtual' relationships are proving to be for those who feel isolated for any reason - geographically, socially or any in any other way. It's a new normal and I for one love it. Good on you for being one of Us, and you can always call on us when things are a bit overwhelming because it happens to all of us sometime.

Valli, I'm so glad you found that key! A friend of mine once found his hair brush in the biscuit tin, and I totally understood why he'd put it there. This doesn't work for urgent finding tasks but I've taken to just making a note of things I've lost and hey presot! they turn up a few days later, or I realise I've binned, flung or donated it. Sorry about the accident; horrible for you. Your jam, by the way, is as excellent as I thought it would be.

Ionafan, sorry about the car being caught up in the lastest scandal. I'm rather of the same mind as you about how it happened.

<stomps foot> I want some for all flyladies.........

    Quite.

Flying sort of under control if people don't mind a bit of dust, a bit of scruffiness around the place and a liberal sprinkling of cat and dog hair over everything .... I was given a huge pile of fruit and veg yesterday by a local charity that has been overwhelmed by seasonal produce and didn't want it to go to landfill. I trimmed and washed it last night and found extra things they didn't know they'd been given in the bottom of some of the bags: apples, a marrow, eight beetroot, six onions, a truss of tomatoes, a red pepper, two turnips, a bunch of beans and a swede. I feel a bit guilty. (And, while I was typing that I heard I'd won some cat food in a raffle yesterday. Devil Cat is very pleased.) Today will be be apple freezing because some of them are a bit dinged, and making marrow and ginger jam to take back to the charity for them to give to people, I think.
    Better is good enough.
  • Morning all.

YL - I think you have made a crucial first step with posting on here. I agree that a list of all your points on paper would be helpful. Then you can hopefully start to tick them off.

Obviously not all the solutions will be easy, but some may be more easily addressed than others.

As someone else has said maybe finding a forum/support group for DS1's problem might be a help.

Maybe your OH will understand more if he sees an actual list.

I can totally understand how you feel that DS2 doesn't get enough attention. I completely understand. I felt like that for ages when DD1 was very ill. I spent time with DD2 to keep her out of DD1's way - they shared a bedroom, but DS got virtually no attention. And that was at a crucial time - near his GCSEs.

Maybe if you can discuss this all now, you can start to chip away at some of them... and that would lift your mood.

Is there any chance that you get get some counselling? I had some when DD1 was ill, and it did help put things in perspective..

Having another quiet day today. Hope everyone is well and having a good day.

Hey it's very quiet on here, everyone must be flying.

    [STRIKE]
Hoover/sweep[/STRIKE]/mop through house - can't get to the sink for water
Sort out recycling etc for collection tomorrow - partly done, can't get to where they go for collection
Cut the grass and weed the garden - back done, no weeding, can't get to front
Make that chocolate cake - probably won't now
Prepare tea (toad in the hole) - will do later
Make sure the dogs are walked although DD has offered to do this - DD not here yet

    Will do some more reading.
Spend less now, work less later.
