Parliamentary Early Day Motion

Thus saying that MP's maybe scared to voice their own opinions.
When is Putin taking over from Cameron, must be soon ?
As it seems that the SNP are voicing "PRIVATE PARKING OPERATORS IN TOWNS AND CITIES" and very few others, can we all assume that MP'S are being gagged ???
Maybe there is an underlying reason for this, maybe it is The Dept for Transport protecting the DVLA scam and that extra £3million they rake in for breaking the Data Protection Act and selling your private information without your permission.0 -
My reply to my democratically elected trougher:
I regret to say that the situation which you have described could not be further from the truth., There are two ATAs, the British Parking Association , and the Independent Parking Commission The first is corrupt, the second hugely corrupt.
Both are funded by the private parking companies. the DVLA benefits by over £6 million from releasing driver details to PPCs, it turns a blind eye to even gross infringements of its Kadoe contract with the PPCs, thousand of complaints have been made against it for unauthorised release of Keepers; details.
Furthermore, I understand that a constituent in another part of the country has received an identical letter, it reads like a press release from the BPA.
I suggest that, before your researcher asks you to sign a letter, you read it first and ensure that the contents are accurate.
When I write to my MP, I do not expect to be lied to in return. This industry needs to be regulated, NOW.
These unscrupulous companies are ripping off thousands of people, viz

Nice one TD. Look forward to reading his grovel! Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Brilliant reply TD, we do not want elected MP's lying to us. Can't help thinking that this is much deeper and I wonder just how people benefit from this fraud outside of the parking industry0 -
You could also have added the fact that even though UKPC (or at least some of their employees) had been found to be engaging in criminal activity they were just given a gentle slap on the wrist by the BPA and allowed to continue their membership of that cosy member's club. The correct course of action would have seen them being expelled and not allowed to join any other ATA.What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0

This is the reply I got from My MP
Dear Mr X,
Thank you for your recent correspondence.
I appreciate you taking the time to write to me to pass on your concerns regarding Early Day Motion 458.
I have noted your comments, and understand how important it is for you to receive my support of this campaign and I can assure you that I share your concerns in relation to private parking operators in towns and cities.
As I am sure you will understand, as with any Early Day Motion I like to clarify the action the government is taking. I find it more effective to raise constituents’ concerns directly with Ministers. I do not sign EDMS as they have no legislative effect.
I have now written to the Parliamentary Under Secretary of State (Minister for Local Government), Mr Marcus Jones MP, to request that this clarification is provided. I will pass onto the response I receive. I hope this is helpful.
Thank you once more for taking the time to write. Please don’t hesitate to let me know if you feel that I can be of further assistance to you at the current time.
With kind regards,
Sarah

Thank you for your email of 27 October, on behalf of your constituent, Mr X about EDM 458 on private parking.
Private parking companies will most usually be a member of one of the two Accredited Trade Associations for the parking industry, the Approved Operator Scheme from the British Parking Association (BRA) and the Independent Parking Committee (IPC). As members of these trade associations they must comply with their codes of practice, which contain guidance and complaints procedures.
The trade associations are independent of Government but the BPA and IPC monitor continued compliance and investigate complaints where breaches of their code of practice are alleged. Both the BPA and IPC operate appeal mechanisms, which are free to use for the motorist.
The BPA code of practice and list of members are available at their website (link I can't post)
The IPC code of practice and list of members are available at their website (link I can't post)
The government introduced the Protection of Freedoms Act in part to curb the excessive behaviour of some elements of the private parking industry, but we are aware that we might need to go further. The previous administration launched a discussion paper asking for views on the private parking sector and we are currently considering the responses we have received.

MARCUS JONES MP
Is the Parliamentary Under Secretary of State (Minister for Local Government), Mr Marcus Jones MP completely blind to reality, it would appear he is.
He speaks about the IPC/IAS as if they run a legitimate business ?
It is very iffy that the BPA are but does he not know that IPC/Gladstones is such a well engineered set up, THAT they fooled the government (and still do) they fooled the OFT, they fooled Trading Standards and they fooled the DVLA.
There is a mini war going on between these two, who can sign up the most PPC's etc etc ....... THIS IS NOT BEING INDEPENDENT.
We do not want a government that can be fooled so easily
Does not make good reading for the Conservative Government when this well engineered scam was set up to extort money from people and they are being allowed to do it.
Mr Marcus Jones states
"but we are aware that we might need to go further"
How many more voters will be ripped off by the Private Parking Industry and especially the IPC/IAS and the connections to Gladstones all working from Red Cow Lane ??
How many more young mums and the rest of us are going to be harassed and threatened by these cowboys before Mr Jones and the government wakes up to the severity of this very serious issue
Well Mr Jones, your government has been fooled, not by just a few pounds but by £millions.
I am certain that the government does not want to be seen to back these shammers who steal money from people.
The very least you can do until you realise the damage being done is the same as happened to the banks, that is .... The County Court system should put on hold ALL actions brought by PPC's, their debt collectors and sham solicitors, until there is a full investigation that is carried out by the government.
This can be done IMMEDIATELY and will at least show that the government is serious about the voters being shammed and robbed0
