The super letter g0wfv. Serious kudos. Excellent template, suitably adapted, for those wishing to slip their MP one (as it were). :)
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Thanks! I thought it was getting a bit on the lengthy side, so cut myself off before I really got into a rant!

It's a shame to see that in the couple of weeks since this motion was tabled, only 13 SNP, one DUP and one Tory MPs have signed it :(

Folks of MSE, this needs us to lobby their Tory, Labour and Lib Dem counterparts whom we elected to represent us; get them doing just that and debating a cause we feel passionate about! As Umkomaas pointed out, I've taken the hard work out of it and provided a template to work from - GET WRITING

(contacting your MP couldn't be easier - click here, find your constituency and click on the MP's name - ET VOILA! Instant email address and snail mail details!)

Beware that the majority of MP's will not even talk to people not in their constituency.

My own MP can't sign the EDM as he's a Parliamentary Private Secretary. However, he is going to write to the MP for Newquay - which I'd done myself, but had a reply only from his Personal Secretary, saying he couodn't do anything as I was outside his constituency

    Mary,

The issues around private parking companies in all regions of the uk are many and varied and are affecting the most vulnerable in our communities who do not, for whatever reason, have access to the information they need to fight the invoices they receive (dressed of course as PCNs but in fact no such thing).

The companies in this industry continue to use sharp practices, misrepresent or indeed ignore the provisions set out in POFA 2012, and abuse access to DVLA data.

I urge you to support this early day motion in order that the issues here are more widely recognised and acted upon.

    http://www.parliament.uk/edm/2015-16/458

Should you wish to see further background I will be happy to provide it. The evidence against the companies operating in this industry is overwhelming!

    Best regards

Is what I sent to my MP prior to this thread being posted.
    The response today is.....

Thank you for your recent email. Mary is willing to support EDM 456, and will sign it when she returns to Parliament next week.

Please contact me if you feel Mary can be of further help with this or any other issue.

    Junior Secretary to
    Mary Glindon MP

It's not so much 'will not', patman, but MAY/CAN not.
This is pretty much standard in the auto-responses received, before I have pursued them again.

Still only 15 MPs signed this (same as when I first posted this thread), despite our best efforts :-(
