Tip off last couple of days £23.88
Home today to discover my oven has given in completely.... Gutted!
Have to replace it as 3 kids at home, tho not sure I will have enough to buy one outright. Feeling very fed up.... However pleased I signed back up for the challenge this month or I wouldn't have had any spare cash to try and buy one. Won't be able to buy my blinds now though

sorry to hear that hun
Do yo have a credit union near you? google for your nearest, as they all have different names etc.
Now some credit unions have attached to them shops where they sell refurbished/second hand white goods etc cheaply. So worth looking for that near you.
Also if they don't have that shop, you could speak to your credit union about a low interest loan payable over a year. This would help you pay for a new oven with managable payments each month, and low interest repayment.
also check this for funds that might be able to help

Now I'm going into Hospital for an op in November, so will be having to take things very easy for a couple of weeks - is it withing the spirit of the thread for me to save the rest of my October sales, (if there are any) to go towards my November total ?
:T:money::beer::j
that's blooming marvellous! well done the money making, not the hospital op.
Yes, you can carry forward october sales to November.
good luck with op0 -

Thanks for your tips Aesop. After looking on ebay, i think I will have enough to buy one outright, which is what I'd prefer to do. We do have credit unions, in fact the kids have savings with them as they run the school bank, so that is always worth knowing!
My top oven is working, the hob is working and I have a slow cooker which I forget about so I should be able to use these till I pick a new one. Also I have an actifry.... Doesn't seem so bad this morning

awesome. so pleased hun.
I was thinking this morning going to start using my slow cooker a lot more now. so many groups on facebook about how to make meals with it, and sure google will throw up recipes and I KNOW mse has a thread on it too.
I forget to check ebay for things. someone I know bought a brand new double bed for £2.00  not sure how much p an p was though, they wouldnt say :rotfl:0 -
Anyone doing Consumer Pulse and Shop and Scan? Don't forget if you are saving your points for vouchers for Christmas
Festive Cut Off Date
To maximise your chances of receiving your vouchers prior to 25th December, we suggest you place your order by Tuesday 8th December0 -
Sorry to hear about your cooker cp - don't you have anyone who can mend it ?
I went on ebay looking for a second hand electric cooker once - Ended up buying a 24 foot cabin cruiser !
Edited to add - that the fault is likely to be either the heating element or the thermostat - neither of which are the end of the world to fit.0 -
£16 from prolific and £9 from Pinecone. Not a hugely profitable month but more so than it would have been had I not bothered! Very busy with work (I'm self-employed so the busier I am the more I earn) so it's a trade off really!
FYI the Tesco Clubcard point for this quarter are now being calculated for vouchers in November.MSE-ing since 20070 -
I am confused..
First the good news - I have made about £45 selling my old CDs, DVDs and books to various companies so I must thank Aesop for posting a list of links a few pages back. The £45 is if everything is accepted so I won't count it yet.
Now to the subject of my confusion... I started with 3 large boxes of stuff. I've sorted through it and sent 3 medium boxes off to be exchanged for cash, I've taken 3 carrier bags full to Oxfam, and I've put about 2 carrier bags in the bin (CD cases without CDs etc).
Yet I still seem to have as much junk piled up on my living room floor as I did when I started... and now I have no energy to sort it out.0 -
