  • Well said, Aesop:T

I did a tabletop sale this morning but didn't have queues of buyers fighting over my goods:(. Cleared £29 after fees which wasn't brilliant but it's £29 more than I had yesterday so I should be grateful. People kept asking if I had this and that for sale which I didn't and I was annoyed with myself as I had plenty of other stuff which I opted to leave at home this time and could have sold it as it was exactly what people were asking for:mad:.

Had an invite from eBay for 40 extra free listings for items starting between today and 15th plus 50% off final valuation fees:j. I'm always going on about never getting any of the extra free ones that everyone else seems to get so I'm chuffed. Will be hard-pressed to find 40 things to sell and get them photographed and listed in time though as would like to get them uploaded to run Sunday to Sunday. Everything's different so will need a different description and details for each of them. Have done 7 so far so it looks like a long night ahead!

    Have a good weekend, everyone:beer:

Just a thought CBC, as you like things to end on a Sunday what about doing some on a Thursday as a 10 day listing? Would that take some of the pressure off? Also I used to end all mine on a Sunday but Monday works just as well really now but keep them later in the eve around 9.30 after people have had time to sit down etc. Of course it all depends on your own availability to get things wrapped n posted of course.

  • Thanks, Top Dollar:T

I sometimes wonder about the importance of ending on a Sunday night now, especially with X Factor and Downton on TV that might mean less people are online on Sunday evenings anyway. With smartphones though I suppose they can be doing both at the same time:T. Expert advice always used to say Sunday evenings was best for auction endings and it's just something I've stuck to out of habit:o. Might take your advice and try other days next time. Thanks for the tip about Mondays:T.

I've done a few 5-day Tuesday to Sunday ones too but am not bothering with any 10 day ones this time round as I'm not organised with my pics at the moment. Something wrong with camera, need to take it in for repair when I can afford to. It was a competition prize a few years ago and was top of the range at that time. It takes brilliant photos so is well worth getting it back in perfect order. The pics on my phone are rubbish:(. Managed to just scan the flat stuff and paper ephemera but most of what I've left to sell needs photographing in more detail.
  • £20 gift from a friend - she wanted me to treat myself now that I'm newly self-employed (& scared to spend money :rotfl:) - how kind is that ?!!!

Plus £45 refund for a course that I was planning to attend on Saturday - it was cancelled due to low numbers. I'm normally pretty laid back about these thing but I'm quite cheesed off about it as I went to a lot of effort to arrange to go including arranging childcare and spending £16 on train tickets (non-refundable) - I might see if I can get them to pay for the tickets as 3 days is really super-late notice for cancellation.
Shifting my energy for 2020 :heart::heart:
  • Thanks all for the warm welcome!

A couple of bits to add so far, £1.22 paid out from Quidco today and also £10 from mobilexpression. Waiting on a payout from onepoll which I claimed a few weeks ago so hoping that comes through soon.

Just signed up to Pinecone (I've struggled with survey sites recently but this one sounds good) and will definitely look through all the other ideas on here to see what else I can try!

    How's it going with the self-employed :)
What a kind friend - and yes I'd certainly try to get the train money back as well.

Interest from credit card = £ 5.73 and £ 1 from a survey so £6.73 to add to total today.

Hope you all have a super Thursday

just won £10 on luckyphone again :money::beer:

this will pay for me and DS at the circus tomorrow. Hubby got complimentary tickets so we have front row seats. I was going to take DS on friday, have discount vouchers but explained to him we were going to sit at the back as it was the cheapest option for me.

We are going cinema on sunday for free, with sweet sunday codes. so a goodish week for me.

oh and got a free bag for life today from dot.com and won a bbq from cuticura.

    Well done! :j

Am I doing something wrong with luckyphone, because when I click Check Results, all I see is the notice from the weekend about the server upgrade. I can't actually see the results.
