Just been to the gym after work so 2/12, it's been another NSD 2/20 and no chocolate either. So far so good, however, planning to go shopping tomorrow so will have to avoid the chocolate aisle.

We're having egg salad for tea tonight so that's the meat free day covered and I think we're going to try to do a tech free night tomorrow night.

Payday from 2nd job so have made a wee payment to the debt and the emergency fund. Have taken out money and put it in envelopes ready for the week ahead.

apple your tea tonight sounds yummy. Good luck with giving up grains and sugar, sounds much more difficult than giving up chocolate.

traveller how annoying about the delivery. Do they refund the delivery charge if they cancel it?

  • I can remember A$da cancelling a shopping delivery on me at 10pm on the 23rd of December. I'm sure that you can imagine what was in the order... In fairness to them, they were snowed in, but I trudged into town in my wellies on Christmas Eve morning to buy all the veggies and stuff for Christmas dinner, only to get home and find that they'd been and delivered my order! I can laugh about it now - just, but I was so peeved at the time.
Another NSD for me today so I'm happy. Not much else to report really - busy on the work front, and all quiet everywhere else. I'm off to bed for an early night I hope.

Evening everyone. I hoped you've all been able to enjoy this lovely autumnal sunshine at some point today.

Apple our local fish and chip shop does a permanent gf menu. We are so lucky having them there but it does get expensive. Normally we split an adults fish and chips and a child's fish and chips to share between the four of us though.

Traveller I'm sorry they've cancelled on you. That's the reason why if I order an online food delivery, I stick with Tesco. Luckily I haven't had any major problems with them.

Well I've had my second NSD despite the kids asking for sweets from the school tuck shop. Luckily I had remembered we had lollipops and sweets in the cupboard (that other people bought us too!). We also stayed away from takeaway tonight and made our own gf pizzas. Tomorrow will be a spend day but is budgeted for. It includes £6.30 entry to Beeston Castle (241 and free kids entry from last weekend's paper), £5 on foodbank donation and 30p for teabags. There is a few pennies left of the food budget this week so the teabags will come out of that.

Savvy Shopper! I've been Money Tipped!
    Morning All

Have been doing well on the use it up front. Last night we had the home made burgers I mentioned. Which I served on home made bruchettas. I brought some rustic ciabbatta type loaf home from work that would have gone stale. Then I picked through a green salad that had been in the fridge a day and took all the tomato out. Binned the slimey leaves. Put the tomato in a bowl with some chopped garlic, grated lemon, oil, fresh basil and salt and pepper. Then I toasted them with a small amount of grated cheese.
I served the burgers on them with a side salad of grated carrot, tomato and basil & sliced cucumber with cider vinegar. Very yummy!
This morning we've had the rest of the loaf for breakfast with a selection of toppings.
It's very grey and foggy this morning and we are off to a school event for a few hours. But that's it for today. Might do a homemade soup of some kind for lunch.

    Have a good day everyone.

Morning everyone! So yesterday was a raving NSD success. Work paid for my colleague's leaving meal and the drink after I just drank water. Someone bought me a gin, I asked them not to but I think they felt sorry for me! I'm quite happy not drinking but I guess some people don't think you can have fun without alcohol in your hand. Anyhoos a NSD 2 for me and hoping today will be one too as working an event so work should pay for my subsistence. I did however decide to pour my fabric conditioner all over my kitchen floor last night but I think there is enough left for a couple of washes so shouldn't need to buy more till next week. I'm meant to be going to watch the rugby at my club today too but luckily with work as my excuse I've got out of it so will watch it at home with a lemonade instead. Mon the Scots!

    Have a good Saturday everyone!

We are having a loose version of fish and chips for tea. (can't get them from the chippy anyway as they are all glutenised). So it is pan fried salmon in a sweet chili sauce and home made chips - parboiled and tossed in oil and salt and then oven baked. And lo veggies from yesterday. Yum!

I love chips made like that.

traveller - how annoying of Asda, it has happened to me a couple of times with Tesco.

I need to call at the bank today to pay in my Avon cash, I still have one order to deliver so will have to go back at some point. DD wants a body spray/deodorant type thing for her p.e. kit so will pick one of those up and I need my dried banana.

My car needs filling up with LPG this weekend (this needs to be planned due to petrol stations selling it being scattered about) but that comes from the petrol budget. Me and DH will cycle today and may go out somewhere this afternoon with the kids and the dog.

Bob - your tea sounds lovely.

    Morning all,

Yesterday was a spendy day as bought biscuits to share at work and went out for a meal with friends. I had budgeted for a big night out this month but as I drove to the meal, the evening cost me £20 so I've got a bit to spare. I'm going to use some of it to go to a charity event today and make a donation, and then I've also put £10 in my 'emergency fund'.

I transferred the extra money I earnt last weekend to credit card 2 last night, so now I only have £100 to get it down to the point where the rest of the balance is 0% :)

Today will be spendy as I need to do the food shop but I reckon I only need 7 items :) and I'm treating myself to a massage from a trainee masseuse, so it's less than half price :) After that I'm hoping for SFDs for most/all of next week.

    Have s good day :)

I actually did laugh out loud at that one... :rotfl:
I think today will be a spendy day - I need petrol and a bit of a top up shop (and I don't think I'll be able to talk dh into filling the car at football while he's off work ill). I'm planning to be busy with non spendy stuff so we'll see how that goes - will report in later.
