Pigpen - words fail me, I can't even think of a name to call him as everything I can think of seems too polite lol Meteor landing on him vibes being sent
Today I managed my dailies, the sewing repairs, sorted out my email inbox and the laundry. That's it. The reason is I spent most of the day sat on the sofa with a stressed out doggy curled up with his head in my lap. The hoarders house next door was sold in July and they've been renovating it which is great. Today however the gas board came to reconnect the gas supply which involved digging up the pavement more or less outside our house (they've dumped all the dirt outside mine), leaning their equipment against our house, parking their van outside and all 3 of them wandering around or standing outside my window. Well my dog doesn't like men at the best of times and will bark at random ones going past. He also doesn't like people with sticks (even newspapers are a no go!) or people in high visibility stuff, or broad built people. Well 2 of the 3 ticked every box and the apprentice lad had brand new high vis stuff on so was very very noticeable, so when doggy wasn't curled up on the sofa with me (while I was doing the sewing) he was at the window on his hind legs looking out and growling, scratching at the door to go upstairs so see and check things out, sniffing at the front door wanting to go out, stood on the sofa which allows him to see out the window growling, literally under my feet or running about the place trying to tell me there were men outside. Its been a long day to say the least. I tried distracting him but it only worked for 5 minutes at a time if I was lucky, and shutting the curtains didn't work either as he knows how to open them enough to stick his head through and nose :rotfl: I'm hoping they'll come and fill the hole in tomorrow, take away all the stuff and I'll be able to take him out for a walk to get rid of some of the stress. On the plus side I've not felt cold all day which makes a pleasant change :rotfl:
Tomorrows plan is get up early, have a shower, do the ironing, label up some work related things, and hopefully get some housework done. We'll just have to wait and see what actually happens. Right now I'm off to bed which is where I had planned to head nearly an hour ago:wave:
Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
Evening all :hello:
Sending gw vibes to all poorlies and some big sticks where needed.
Pigpen - I am truly lost for words. I am soo sorry that you are having to go through such a horrible time. If it was me I think I would just keep all the family well away from him and his ****. He doesn't deserve to have a family !!!
Welcome to the Flying club Rosie and remember baby steps. Don't try to do too much all at once
LW - sorry to hear your ulcers are back again..did any of those remedies help last time ? Hope they soon gone and you enjoy your 'guests'.
I don't have many Christmas presents either. Both DH and I are orphans and we don't buy for DH's sisters and families but just send a card (lucky if we get one back).
My DSD is a single mum and we agreed her not to get us anything and we do the same for her. We give her money to buy the DGC some new clothes and we get them a little something to open on the day - usually a book of some kind.
My DS is usually away travelling over the winter but visits us in November before he sets off. We usually buy him some decent clothes for his birthday (December) and Christmas whilst he is here so he can choose them and send him off with cards to open on the day (usually with a £20 to have a drink on us). This year we will do the same for his birthday but, as he has just moved into a new (his first) flat we are going to buy a collection of good tools - he hasn't any - and take them out in March when we meet in Spain.
DH and I agreed years ago to just get a nice card and then we go out for a 'special' meal instead.

Supporting Hugs to you and yours pigpen, and karma sorting him out appropriately vibes being sent to him. ( I'm very careful about who I wish that on after years ago seeing the local bully standing on top of the park swing posturing as well drove by, and I said out loud in front of my kids,:o I wish he would just fall off and break something. About a week later Ds1 came home from school to inform me bully hadn't been in school all week as he'd fallen off the swing frame and broken his leg. the kids are a bit wary of me now and think I may have witch powers. I can't believe the coincidence but if it does work again pigpen you are most welcome!
