Oh it is yes. Absolutely. Cradle to grave much better for the environment to buy once and run it as long as poss. In terms of whats puffing out the exhaust though on a worn leggy Euro V engine compared to a new Euro VI one though....
I'm not in any way saying that my choices in cars are in any way particularly "green" by the way. Or cheap, for that matter. But neither has been my driving reasons for buying cars (pun intended)
As of next a couple of weeks time both of our cars will be 2.0 litre turbo petrol performance variants which is better for the environment. Apparently.0 -

Cant say that i read the newspapers but they do seem to have it in for diesel cars at the minute and are obsessed with looking for proof that diesel car values are bombing. Particularly the Daily Mail.0
