Wouldnt really expect them to pay out without a great deal of squirming. I think failing to compensate will hit their sales well into the future.
I started out with nothing......And still have most of it left:p

Great idea for them - generates more footfall into the showroom, more sales in a traditionally quiet period, and good, used stock as trade ins.

    Inspired!

True. But it will effect them. Their balance sheet will be full of intangibles, it's going to take a massive hit through revaluation.

    Are those big discounts?

  • Not big discounts in themselves, but coupled with a deposit allowance of £1500 or more on VW models (if you take their finance), plus using further dealer discounts to inflate the trade in value of your car, I'd say it is a good time to buy for delivery now or January 2016.

No cash compensation for European owners...

This may well be VWs stance at the moment, but you only have to google"VW Ommision problems " and find that the legal no win no fee vultures are already beginning to circle!

Works better if you type "emission".
The new PPI type of legal moves started a long time ago - that's what they make their money doing - but if you've been following vw's share price, you'll see it now has (apparently) started to recover, which suggests the markets think vw will be able to cope.

Usual caveats of course - the same people thought Sean Quinn was a billionaire.
