The R4 afternoon play's chuntering on a bit - sorry, haven't really been paying attention and deem self shallow when I know it's a 'worthy' theme.
Wish the Birdsong on DAB was back though.......
But I will like what I like and not worry about it.
That said -
1. persisted through Hell and High Dudgeon[thus coining a suitably mixed metaphor]to FINALLY achieve 21 more listings for ebay, around 1.30 this morning.
[yes, literally thousands - proper things - still to do, but will keep going.]
2. Am so amazed, this has buoyed me into restarting defunct Amazon seller's a/c, cancelled - said they - months ago, because new parameters demanded Credit Cards and I do not want one. Now find there's been one sitting in France for ages, so ta-ra.....and one test listing's on. Ebay's new insistence on FREEP&P for UK book buys is a killer. Can't work it out and have sent them a ? It was the final push to sort sth with Amazon and I think there's comment on Threads here I need to hone up on.
3. Because it rained all day yesterday, felt no guilt at being on 'putah with ebay. Every so often, arose and ironed more huge, repaired, laundered curtains etc for our Charity, which would otherwise have been ragged. I love saving things like this, restoring and making good. Shall be there all next week fulltime while X is on hols. I am passionate about the ethos and effective work done by our charity.
4. Lovely h/m soup with many h/g bits, including rainbow chard from pots, brought back from France as Gamm'Vert chuckouts. They are beauteous stalks and leaves, even if now blitzed in turgid Swamp Soup. It's lush!
5. i-player saved MasterChef final for me, while I ploughed on for 15 hours with ebay - watched this morning, turning 'putah screen round to self, in bed with tea and Soreen, apple and orange. I don't care. I don't care.
[Except I know it's also within cooee of send-upl - shouty Greg, grindingly obvious Michel, screechfest Monica - and the waste element is unacceptable in another context, away from the prog's premise]
Again, idon'tcareidon'tcareidon'tcareiknowishouldcare, but I suspect you're with me, grandmasam.
6. 'twas raining in France, too and A., sent home, Skyped.....
7. Have loved feeling causes for smiles all over again from so many people here - Welcome Home to Broomstick[yes, yes,-love my hottie, too. Nthing else will do the same comfort job] and flaire - it IS a good place to be, isn't it?
8. Oh goody, Gardeners' Question Time is just starting.
9. Pensioner I may be, but I now have enough, can manage, and can earn more via computer, upon which realisation I will resume capitalising.
10. Old Friends email advised that my first best friend - we were 6/7 onwards - has joined up. Made myself complete a certain ebay mission to save contact as treat - shall now indulge.
Out of the slough?...on verra. Lovely afternoon teatime to all.CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

Hi all
Done my week's work (paid I mean) and now going to do my shopping, so please bear with me if this is very brief.
My pleasures for the day:
1 - First thing in the morning, admin meeting with a colleague, 1 1/2 hours work done nice and early (the remainder just now).
2 - Pilates class, to get the old abs in shape.
3 - DD came down with me and went to the gym while I did Pilates.
4 - When I went to the gym to tell DD that I was done, I met a friend there, who came back to mine for a cup of coffee.
5 - Nice crop of Cicoria (cultivated dandelion leaf) harvested from the garden, waiting to be washed and cooked in garlic oil and chili for dinner tonight.
6 - The kefir grains that I put in soya milk have produced a nice thick kefir.
Right, off to supermarket (Mr S) wish me luck with the peak hour traffic and crowded buses! Good night, have a great evening, all xxxFinally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
Hello again Caterina -
We seem to have been bumping into each other today.
Your mention of kefir reminded me of this:

Hopefully, a lot of readers here will - if only vicariously - feel better for dropping in on their lives.
I recommend i-player for tonight's News Quiz replay...Jeremy Hardy's on triffic form.
Would eagerly anticipate Autumn Watch, were it not for Kate Humble[NOT!] - can't stand her, but Chris Packham is lovely, in the Monty Don mould.
AND, best of all - maybe - Grayson Perry on The Other News Quiz.
So much for she who hardly watches box...does all of that count as pleasure of anticipation no. 1?
Happy evenings and Bon Ap's to all.CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

5 for today!
1) Got my college homework done this morning so don't have to worry about that during half term.
2) Went to my sons' art show at school and saw what they had been making during African Week.
3) Went to the library to swap my magazines and get some books out. And to print my college work out. Also printed out the piano score for Coldplay's "Clocks" which I've been playing this afternoon.
4) Took younger son to Film Night at school and big son and me made sloe gin, a tray of chocolate fairy cakes and there is still a date and walnut cake in the oven!
5) About to sit down quietly and watch the television. I don't normally watch much but I do like Have I Got News For You and Peep Show.

P.S On a radio 4/iplayer theme, I listen to stuff on iplayer when I go to bed (I'm not good at falling asleep). I like the omnibus edition of the Archers, the News Quiz and I've really enjoyed Terry Nutkins' talking about his time working for Gavin Maxwell (he wrote Ring of Bright Water about the otters). Its on Friday morning at 11 if anyone wants to look it up. Oh, and the Unbelievable Truth is good.0 -
ACEY, I have radio on through night/day in more than one place.
Will Matt come clean with his latest hold-out on the £1/4million he hasn't declared?
Don't know The Unbelievable Truth, so will try that one - thankyou.
Have you heard Dr Carl[Oz scientist wunderkind]with Rod Sharp around 3-4am Thursdays R5 - he's the sort of man all of us wish we had for science. Clone him, say I.
Ditto Gareth Malone.

3.talking to family on the phone
4.the sun came out for a time and with the blue sky and autumn colous it was just lovley
5.the bin men came and cleared the rubbish"The purpose of Life is to spread and create Happiness" :j0 -
1. Running a charity day at work tomorrow and lots of stores in the centre have donated stuff to us. Very kind in these tough times.
2. Had HM sausage casserole for lunch at work. Boss was particularly vile today and made me cry but then this perked me right up.
3. House tidy for weekend and washing up to date.
4. Spoke to GBF yesterday about work situation and he cheered me right up (and he used his minutes!)
5. Off for a nice hot soak now as have stiff neck.'The road to a friends house is never long'0 -
My five for today, then it's straight to bed.
1. Yes, Ampersand, hotties rule! I've just made one and I'm putting it at the top of my list.
2. Getting out of the house properly for the first time in nine days. The children are feeling much better. I'm coughing again but it was so nice to be out in autumn sunshine.
3. Managing to line dry another load of washing while we were out.
4. Finding we'd had a delivery of two glass worksurface savers from Lakeland when we got back. They cost a bit, but I'm worried about damaging the new kitchen worktops in our rented house so I think they may save money in the long run and they look really good.
5. Getting some positive news about a meeting friends had with our local MP today. Sounds as if he was listening to them.
Sweet dreams everyone
