Good evening all  - turned into a cold, windy and very wet day here today - brrrrr.

sparrer - sounds like you've had a good couple of days with your Aussie visitor :).
princesslou - I think I should have had a copy of that cookery book when I first got married - my cookery experiments were a very long, slow learning curve :rotfl:.
Rummer - such a shame that somebody's business is closing down like that BUT those bargains are as much yours as anybody else's - wtg girl :j.
flutterby - sorry to hear you've been having headaches - are you sure they're just 'tension'? If you're still having them, I'd honestly pay a visit to the GP (if you haven't already done that) - hope you're soon feeling better ((((HUGS)))).
Louba - isn't it amazing how much better we feel when we've 'had a trim' :j.
Primrose - well done you on such a busy/productive day - that Pork Normandy sounds very delish .

    1. Had a really busy day with dgs1 here for the day. We whiled away a couple of hours on the comp this morning and then took a trip to the local shopping centre. Donated a 'baby play-gym' back to the charity shop that I bought it from about 18mths ago - it's been well played with (2 babies have used it in that time) but still good enough to be sold on again .
    2. dgs1 had a rummage through the toy boxes in about four different charity shops and didn't once ask for anything - awwwww.
    3. Visited Wilkinsons, HomeBargains and B&M Bargains and picked up a few bits and bobs towards Christmas pressie/goodie stashes.
    4. Took dgs1 to Asda cafe for lunch - fish, chips and baked beans which he soon made short work of.
    5. Managed a few bargains in the shop - not that many whoopsies, BUT some good rollbacks on things that I will use - coffee, fabric conditioner, milk, bread, SmartPrice curry sauce is only 4p at the moment :j - you'd pay more than that for the jar alone!
    6. Took dgs1 back home to his mother - phew! She gave him his tea - fish fingers, potato waffles and, yes - you've guessed it, baked beans :rotfl:! AND it all disappeared as quickly as his lunch did .
    7. Ham and Turkey salad for evening meal tonight - should have been something hot really, but we've had lots of 'red meat' recently.
    8. DS2 rang to request baby-minding services for tomorrow morning. He's got footie practice and will take dgs2 with him while his g/f will be going to bed following a hospital night-shift with another one to follow tomorrow night. So dgs3 (aka Billy-blue-eyes) arrives at 9.30 in the morning
    9. Have just taken some Turkey Mince out of the freezer for tomorrow's evening meal and put some flageolet beans to soak. I'll turn it into some kind of 'casoulet-type' thingy tomorrow - may even let it cook itself in the SC.

that's about all from me for this evening - hope everybody has a good night's sleep - nitey nite - love Ollie xxx

sounds rough out there tonight - the wind is positively howling and I can hear things getting blown around the back garden - oh dear!

Thanks Olliebeak. I haven't been to GP yet this time, but I've been twice before in the past few years and they just say there is nothing they can do, just take painkillers. I haven't had headache since around 2pm yesterday so fingers crossed it's gone. If not I had planned to go to GP in the week.

They were only closing because they are moving to bigger and better premises and will be recruiting more staff so it will be a win win all round!

    Today my pleasures will be:

    • Enjoying my bargains from yesterday
    • Tidying my garden for the winter
    • Opening all the windows and letting the fresh air flow
    • Spending a few hours crafting for christmas
    • Playing with my kitten
    • Baking up a storm in the kitchen
    • Finally tackling the laundry mountain
Taking responsibility one penny at a time!
