Ollie - a big thankyou for responding to everyone's post - you are a good 'un :T
Hugs to Billy858 and anyone else who needs one.
1. A decorating free day for me
2. Spending the day with dd decluttering her room - we filled four garden sacks  Why tho' after all that hard work does her room look exactly the same as it did last night  We may have to have "declutter - the return adventure" tomorrow and hopefully I'll be reporting a more positive final outcome - fingers crossed.
3. Hm lentil curry for tea - quick, easy and ms :T
4. Laughing at dh sympathising with dd that she had been "mummed" today :rotfl:. I was in the kitchen and could hear them chatting in the front room. I think he was just relieved that it wasn't his junk I was decluttering - his time will come mwah - hah - hah :rotfl:
5. Enjoying our new-look bathroom and hallway - although they are not finished, they are coming along a treat.
Hope you are enjoying your holiday Bella. Take care all xxx0 -
Evening all,
Just had the worst possible day really. A mummy friend's DH was flown home from Afghanistan and has unfortunatley lost his legs and he is very poorly with severe internal injuries and my brother who is serving with the RAF, flew out to Afghanistan this morning
I've really struggled to find the pleasures today, but i know it's probably more important to try and find them now then any other day. So here goes...- Another dreamfeed for DS, another 8 hours straight slumber
- Washing all the household bedding and drying it outside
- Did a 'Reverbe' and found 20p in the street
- Leftover lamb for lunch in reduced price pitta bread
- An hour at the park this afternoon with DD
- A naughty midweek glass of wine...not great for my diet, but i think my sanity needed something naughty.
xxx0 - Another dreamfeed for DS, another 8 hours straight slumber

Oh Scrummy, that's so sad, poor friend's hubby, sending hugs xxx I think a glass of vino was perfectly understandable tonight.
Ollie - I agree, you are amazing at keeping track of everyone, I always get a warm glow when I read your posts
Today has been good:
1. DD's sports day was lovely, she didn't win her race but she had lots of fun, as did I in one of the mummy races (never thought I would enter!). Bless her, she gave me her medal for taking part as she was proud of me going into a race
2. Had a great swim this morning before work, it was much easier today than yesterday - hoorah!
3. DD and I watched Ice Age again this evening, whilst she ate her tea 'picnic-style' in the lounge, a big treat
4. Have listed loads of books on Amaz*n and a couple of things on Eb*y, I've been faffing around for ages, and am glad I finally got round to it!
5. Picked up a book I'd reserved from the library, got my 50p out and the librarian told me I'd already paid for it a while back. Yippee!! A virtual saving0 -
Sorry Scrummy. What a horrible day. I think I would have had a glass of wine too.
1) Having a coffee with a friend this morning. She sent me away with some wood for the stove and some chocolate cake for the children
2) Getting two fruit trees for the garden at less than I expected
3) Extras at teatime as the children both had a friend to stay and two chicken breasts with a lot of veg in a jar of curry sauce serving six generous portions
4) Getting some gardening time in the cool of the evening. The apple tree is in.
5) An invitation to go out for a meal with friends. Couldn't get hold of DH in time but it worked out much better as we joined our friends later for a drink after the meal and must have saved ourselves £20, at least. I feel a little mean always trying to save money on going out but in the end, every little helps0 -
Scrummy that's terrible, I would have demolished the whole bottle on a day like that!! Hope today is better.
For yesterday / this morning
1 - seeing the Hangover on Orange two for one - I haven't laughed so much in ages!
2 - a spiders web caught in the sunlight this morning, every strand was perfect
3 - speaking to my dad on the phone, normally he passes me on to mum as he's a little deaf and not too good on the phone
4 - a very small step towards winning over a rather unhelpful and unpleasant person at work! Let's see if it lasts!
5 - A beautiful day and it's almost Friday :j
Have a great day
LxMortgage as at March 2010 £225,000 target for December 2012 £170,000. Blog link http://beautifulorpractical.blogspot.com/2010/07/oh-this-is-all-new.html :j0 -
(((Hugs))) to Scrummy, so sorry to hear that.
My 5 for yesterday:
1. Doing a Reverbe and finding a shiny 5p on the pavement!
2. Going out with friends and being told by one of them that I (along with the other friend) was great company, and how he admired me for having my life so sorted, or words to that effect (can't remember precisely after drinking some rather strong cider :rotfl:).
3. Talking with the other friend, who also happens to be a counsellor, about my unhappy work situation, and having her confirm (without betraying details) that she's had a client who was facing something identical. Made me feel that I wasn't so alone (which I'm not anyway as at least 2, possibly 3 colleagues at work are unhappy with the way things are going).
4. Yummy homemade chilli and rice for tea.
5. Seeing my friend's new website and hearing about her thriving business as a dogwalker. What a fabulous job! :j
Hope everyone is OK and I agree that Olliebeak's posts are amazing - so thoughtful :T.Life is not a dress rehearsal.0 -
Hi all,
Hugs to all those feeling blue.
Here's mine:
1. Being invited to tea at my mum's at the weekend.
2. My OH finally admitting he may have depression and talking about going to see a dr - a huge step for him but means a way forward
3. My yellow roses - lots of flowers and even more buds
4. Getting a margarite patten book of tea recipes (eg victoria sponge, scones etc) and a weight watchers book - both books for the total of £1 in a charity shop.
5. Working out I might just be able to start saving money from October - only small amounts but it might mean a weekend away next August - it's been a long time due to money!
6. That strange, unexplained feeling that life might just get a little better....working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
Morning all,
I felt a bit rough and tired and then read scrummy's sad news about her friend's DH, hugs and wishes to their family. :A
1. Started eat, pray, love book - amazing already. I can see why Caterina liked it, the mere mention of young male italian twins! (Only joking Caterina).
2. Using the local library more and more.
3. Having poached eggs on toast - could have used them as tennis balls(!) but were delish.
4. Just been reading the Economy Gastronomy thread (bit lengthy) and picked up some ideas for meals. Copied here for quickness:

5. Finding this smiling, at fellow OSers being shocked at a family spending £17k a year on food:Declutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage
:cool2: Cherryprint: "More stuff = more stuff to tidy up!" Less things. Less stuff. More life.Fab thread: Long daily walks

Just popping on to say ((((hugs)))) to scrummy-mummy and thinking of her friend and family.
Sometimes I think things are tough and I read something like that and think I've got nothing to worry about, absolutely nothing.
Hope everyone has a good day, will pop back later.0
