Not been on for a while- been on my holidays, but here are my recent blessings
1. The best holiday I have had in years. The only OS bit is that we got it half price.
2. Getting all our holiday clothes washed, dried and ironed in one day rather than it taking about a week.
3. DD2 getting immediate help at the hospital up the road when she woke up struggling to breathe on Sunday night.
4. The AMAZING care by some wonderful people DD1 got at another hospital where she went for her operation yesterday.
5. Both DD1 & 2 recovering well while I play at being nurse.
6. Free teabags & Dove bodywash in the post.
7. Finishing reading my very funny book (got 5 for £1 at a fete)
8. Rainy day, which means I have no excuse not to finish the decorating.
Thats all for now. Have to go and hand out medication and do some decorating!
Good wishes to all.

Shopndrop - hope today is much better
Ollie - sounds like a difficult start to your week too, good luck to DD with the house hunting

For yesterday:
1 - the second batch of scones were much more successful - they rose so looked more like scones than the last lot ;)
2 - unfortunately OH's dog had to be put down she had been ill for a while and seemed to have forgotten how to do the simplest things and was getting very distressed, I'm trying to see this as a positive as at least she's not in pain
3 - watching a film cuddled up on the couch last night (given to me by a friend so very MSE!)
4 - a new day
5 - scones for breakfast!
Mortgage as at March 2010 £225,000 target for December 2012 £170,000. Blog link http://beautifulorpractical.blogspot.com/2010/07/oh-this-is-all-new.html :j

4. A free pack of 10 teabags, from which I'll get 25 cups of tea, and a money off coupon - bit miffed that I only got one money off coupon and they sent Reverbe 2! ;)

Catching up.
1. Grateful for the rain. It saves me watering the garden.
2. Reading a biography of Jackie Kennedy/Onassis and having it reinforced that those of marry into or who chase money do not lead happy lives, despite their luxurious surroundings.
3. Delicious fruit crumble incoroporating our own frozen blackberries and redcurrants.
4. Watching a second hatching of about six baby bluetits all fluttering around the garden and learning how to eat from our peanut cages.
5. Winning £25 in this month's Premium Bond draw. (Not much but every little counts!)
6. The courgette mountain is slowly depleting, even if it means Bovril and baby courgettes sliced on toast for breakfast.

Thank you Reverbe for that, silly me :o. I haven't opened the box yet as I've still got a few bags of the last pack of freebie tea, so maybe I would have found it then

Hi all

Another lovely lot of pleasures and it is only 1:30 pm! I feel truly blessed.

1 - Call from DH first thing in the morning, to say hi and acknowledge that although we miss each other, we don't REALLY miss each other, knowing that each of us is doing something they really like doing (he: Aikido, me: treats and taking it easy). I am looking forward to seeing him on Saturday, very much, but am also pleasantly surprised at how I am managing to have a good time in my own space!

2 - Nice bowl of porridge with DS, saved the leftover one and will have tomorrow with some added soya milk, it saves me from having to cook from scratch!

3 - Fairly energetic but not-too-hard workout with the Healthwise class (the doctor-prescribed physical exercise programme). I was concerned that it might not be challenging enough but I feel pleasantly, well, worked-out!

4 - Minestrone soup using up leftover veg.

5 - Received the Italian booklet in the post that I ordered a few days ago, the one containing "In praise of crumbs" which I translated and posted elsewhere on this forum. It is truly lovely, its title is "Facile, Felice, Frugale" which means "Easy, Happy, Frugal" and it is entirely home-made with recycled materials.

6 - Got a pm from the lovely OSer that is kindly sending me kefir grains saying that she has posted them this morning.

7 - This evening planned treat: aromatheraphy massage at 5pm - better get down and do some work now, then!

Have a lovely evening everybody xxx
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).

Hi all, hugs to all those that need them :o
And where's my clipper teabags??? :(

1. OH seeming much happier today
2. Realising the homeopathic treatment has lifted the fog from my brain and I actually feel like I'm functioning much more like my old self - a huge relief.
3. Being able to help my sister who was late for work by giving her a lift on our way to work.
4. Walking through the small park to Sainsbugs and finding lots of brambles along one side of the park, loaded with blackberries (well they are all red just now but give it a few weeks and I'll be there with my tupperware :D)
5. Getting yellow stickered:
taste the difference salmon steaks, pork mince, red grapes, white grapes and lychee
in Sainsbugs in my lunch hour - and not buying any biscuits, cakes or chocolate!!!
6. Feeling like the future is more hopeful and brighter, even though there's nothing specific planned.
7. Buying a very pretty small bunch of flowers for my mum who I will visit tonight.
working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?

Kittikins – well done for sponsoring your friends, I also prefer to sponsor than do anything sporty. I prefer to spend my spare time more leisurely doing yoga or walking.
Kiwiblue – lucky you with spring on its way. Our evenings are suddenly much darker than a few weeks ago, a sure sign of autumn on its way here even though it is still August.
Patchwork Quilt – isn’t it nice when you want your DS to bring a particular friend home again rather than not looking forward to it.
Scrummy-mummy – wow 11 pleasures for you. Well done. It is amazing how we can feel so different by getting a good sleep. Let’s hope it happens again tonight.
Olliebeak – I know the phrase 'tough t1tty' - all the more for the rest of you . Only thing is the same colleague will always take some, just forgets to say thank you! I am sure your tenants really appreciated your taking the time to chat to them in their sad times. Hope your DD scan went well.
Sparrer – well done on losing another lb. Every little helps. I hate counting calories, just prefer to cut back on things so as I don’t feel I can’t have anything, just have things in moderation.
Bellaquidsin – hope the weather picks up for you. Even if not, it is still good to spend quality time with family.
Billy858 – hope your DD’s are recovering well. As an asthmatic, I know how horrible and frightening it can be struggling to breathe.
Louba – sorry to hear about OH’s dog but sometimes these things are for the best although it is very difficult at the time.
Primrose – lovely to hear that someone actually wins something on PB even if only £25, better than nothing.
Caterina – sounds like you are having a lovely time but will enjoy your OH when he gets back on Saturday. What a lot of pleasures and still early in the day.
Newlywed – glad the homeopathic treatment seems to have worked for you. You certainly managed to get lots of bargains at lunchtime. I never manage to find anything at lunchtime only full priced stuff.

Thanks for the good wishes from all.
Don’t know what is wrong with me at the moment but I feel quite down again for no particular reason today.

• Calling in to see a friend last night and having a good catch up chat.
• Working from home today. OH also worked from home so it was nice to have his company.
• DH cooked tea again tonight, think he was trying to cheer me up. His efforts were much appreciated.
• Planning on shopping tomorrow for some bits and bobs for DS new flat to make it a bit more homely.
Again can’t find any more today. Just feel really tired and listless for no particular reason.

Let’s hope tomorrow will bring some more pleasures.

An even greyer and wetter day here today, but we still managed OS pleasures and not a penny left our pockets today.

1. Swimming in pool on site.

2. DD and family coming to our apartment for coffee and-

3. Scones BOGOF from Mr. S. not as good as hm but not too bad.

4. Afternoon tea in DD's holiday cottage, with cakes made by DD and DGD - a rainy day activity.

5. Easy tea of fish pie brought from home.
