Bellaquidsin & Olliebeak - waiting for company to get back to me regarding quantities, I'm going to have to get cracking on the cards though as they are hand embroidered - so take a while!!! Thought I'd make them up and stick them in my Etsy shop if they don't go ahead with the order :)
Anyhoo, my blessings are very varied today.

    Hi all,
    Here's mine:
    1. being paid ;)
    2. The sun shining again
    3. My dad offering to help on the car (he can't do much anymore due to bad health)
    4. Finding out I have a extra £12 pay this month due to a new tax code :o
    5. Having been walking each day (only 7,000 steps mind - not 20k!!! :o) feeling healthy, fitter but tired (in a good way)
    6. Finding online library book ordering - order from any of the city libraries and pick up from the local one two minutes walk away from my house - that will be saturday's task ;)
    7. Rediscovering my love of books (due to the library) as well as learning some history of my city I've lived in all my life :o
    8. Asking the stepkids what they want for lunch on saturday and it being something nice and simple - toasted sarnies :)
    9. Getting a money off code from Sainsbugs as I haven't done an online order in ages... but was actually just thinking this week about trying again so that I can use my lunch hour for walking instead of food shops - good timing thanks Sainsbugs (let's hope the drivers have finally stopped moaning about the fact that there are lots of steps up to our property )

jollymummy your cards sound fab - how long does each one take to make?

    My pleasures today:-

    1. Stripping the bed right down to the base and washing everything. I waited for DH to help me to turn the mattress and made it up with everything clean, valance, mattress cover, sheets, blanket and the quilted counterpane we prefer to the duvet in the summer. I can't wait to go to bed tonight.

    2. Making granary bread rolls in the Remoska.

    3. Picking pea shoots, carrot leaves (thinnings), spinach, rocket and parsley to add to my salad for lunch. I eat a salad every day and never buy salad since I got into this growing thing.

    4. Using up some basics instant potato which I had bought for my winter emergency stock and adding it to a fish pie, it was quite nice.

    5. Finding a pencil in the street, Reverbe look the other way, I'm not in your league yet.

    Thanks Bella
I use recycled card and fabric - usually old jeans!! draw or use a transfer piccy, kitsch dogs, tea cups, fruit etc and stitch the pic and then stick it all together, can usually manage 1 - 2 per evening in front of the telly :)

Hi everybody, I didn't post last night as I fell asleep mid-evening and woke up at 2am!
Goodness Reverbe, I can understand finding coins and so forth in the street but a cable reel? How on earth did you get it home? I have visions of you bowling it along like children used to do with a hoop and stick, only on a MUCH bigger scale :rotfl:
As I read your post newlywed I was tucking into a toasted cheese and pickle sarnie - what good taste your stepkids have :D
jollymummy I also had to make a decision about a relationship recently, it's a weight off my shoulders now I've done it. I hope it all works out as you want it to :)

    Friday blessings...

    1. Slept in my own bed last night now that DS has moved out. After sleeping in the junior bed in the spare room for the pst few months it felt very strange, and vast!

    2. So many phone calls today! DM, DS, DD, DF's, even ex OH all wishing me a safe journey and a good holiday. How kind they all are. Also my neighbours either side assuring me they'll look after the cats and the watering, and keep an eye on the house. I'm truly blessed with such good neighbours

    3. A friend of DS came to sort out some problems with the laptop. I bought it 3 months ago and gave it a fair try but couldn't get on with Vista, so he's tweaked it twiddled with it or whatever the techie expression is, and found lots of silly little things wrong, and put them to rights. Now it's running much more smoothly and I don't feel like I want to throw it out of the window any more

    4. When DD phoned she said DGD2 is so excited about the holiday. I'm really pleased as it's always difficilt to know if a child really wants to go away with their grandma. Seems in this case she can't wait, she's not flown before so the whole thing is going to be a new adventure for her.

    5. This time tomorrow we'll be in Rhodes, staying with a friend who has lives in a small, traditional working village away from the tourist spots but with a beautiful beach. Again I'm blessed to have friends who want us to go and stay, all it's costing is the flight (and of course gifts for my friend) and half the cost of car hire, which we're sharing for 3 days.

I suppose I'd better think about packing :o, always leave it to the last minute then I'm not tempted to pack 3 times more than I need.

Take care all, have a good week and stay safe. Hope to be back with you next weekend - unless I do a Shirley Valentine :p. Night night, God bless and sweet dreams

Sparrer - hope you have a lovely holiday.
Jollymummy - your cards sound fantastic
Bellaquidsin - I had to change everything on our bed yesterday - had already done it on Monday but brought a cup of tea for DH in bed as I was awake early (he usually brings me the cuppa) but he sneezed before having time to put his cup down, it is amazing what a mess a little bit of tea can make!
Caterina - well done for winning the Liz Earle cleanser - I just love these products.
Olliebeak - your lawn sounds enormous. I thought our lawn took ages to cut but it sounds like a postage stamp size in comparison to yours.
Newlywed and Reverbe - I love walking too but often don't get up to 20000, just being out inthe fresh air makes you feel so much better. Do walk on your own or in a group?

    1. Using up some ready prepared meals from the freezer so little or no cooking.
    2. Arranging a couple of weekends away, next weekend in our caravan and the following weekend going to see DS as it is his birthday.
    3. Managing to use the pressure washer to clean the paths around the house and the patio - they look so different now.
    4. Cleaning all the windows downstairs on the house as they were all splattered from me using the pressure washer. Not sure if it is just me or does anyone else find using one of these seems to make more work?
    5. Ordering a waterproof jacket from M&M at a real bargain price. OK, it is probably a winter jacket and I won't wear it until next winter but at the price it was, couldn't really leave it there.
    6. Managing to do a back up of my laptop without any help. DS explained what I had to do when he was home at Easter and I have finally been able to do it.
    7. Going off for a day out with DH today, not sure where yet, but taking a packed lunch of HM bread, some prawns I found in the freezer and some of the coffee cake I made yesterday.
    8. Joined the NT after seeing they were back on Quidco. Have been wanting to join for ages but not got round to doing it and would like to visit some properties when we are away.

    Good morning everyone!

I was away from the computer yesterday from lunchtime so am a bit late with my 5, but here they are:

    1. Finishing a book that kept me gripped.

    2. Having the 2nd & 3rd books in the series to start today :T

    3. Putting coffee grounds on the compost of the tub that has my lettuce seedlings in & vaseline around the top while I wait for sticky copper tape from eBay to come.

    4. Encouraging DS3 to do his homework yesterday afternoon when he was first in from school, thus stopping the usual arguments on Sunday ;)

    5. Having an early bath & watching tv in my jammies.

I hope that everyone has a good weekend.
