:rotfl: - much scrolling! I have a really garbage memory, and would hate to 'say' the wrong thing to the wrong person. In work, I walk around with a notepad in my pocket and a pen on a cord around my neck! (My OH is a fan of League of Gentlemen and went on a day trip to Hadfield where it's filmed. He brought me back a 'Pauline's Pen' on a cord )

Ta Ollie, seems we are in the same boat with the memory then.

I wondered this too. Haven't been on for a few days and it takes me ages just reading what others have been up to and their pleasure.
Hugs to those who need them and welcome to new people. Just love this thread as it makes you really think about the positive things in life even if you don't feel too positive.
Mine for the last few days.
1. Found out I have more holiday from work left than I thought I had - a real blessing.
2. My dear friend calling round this morning with a huge bunch of flowers for me as she knew I had had a horrible time at work this week.
3. A very early night last night as feeling exhausted after work.
4. Getting out in the garden and checking on the veg seeds I have planted to make sure they are thriving.
5. My neighbour giving me a crown of rhubarb to plant in the garden - she has been watching me prepare a veggie area and thought I might like some rhubarb.
6. Off out now to see if I can find any whoopsies in Mr A or bargains in Home Bargains (don't think I ever come out of there with nothing).0 -
I seem to have problems keeping up with you all on here now the warmer weather and the garden beckons, but anyway:
1. Finding homes within 24 hours for a tray of surplus tomato seedlings given to me by a friend. Always nice when you can give something useful away.
2. Feeding the tadpoles in my tiny pond with boiled lettuce, marvelling how quickly they're growing and how they love munching into the greenery.
3. OH weeding the strawberry bed for me. (He hates gardening!) and seeing it bursting with flowers. This is its fourth year now so should it should really be in decline.
4. Leisurely breakfast catching up with the Budget news in the paper. (Think this should be in the "Curse" section rather than blessings).
5. Finding a little sweet pea seedling peeking out of my brussels sprouts tray. Heaven only knows how it got there but is has now been moved to a little sunny haven.0 -
- :jat the kids sleeping through last night, scrummymummy - what bliss! How kind of the 'accident lady' to thank you like that - very strong of her to make herself revisit the scene in that way.
Haha, I wish!
I meant that i only got woken once in the night for a bottle by DS as opposed to the night time tag that DD and DS sometimes like to play when i settle one only for the other to start mithering, some nights its like a bizarre game of pinball as i bounce of the hall walls between bedrooms in my sleep deprived state
DH miraculously "never hears a thing" (he sleeps in the spare room during the week so that he's at his best for work), how do men do that???
My blessings today are:- Receiving my £10 pizza express coupon in the post for purchasing an item on the boden site using a code i got from here. I had been hankering after the jumper i purhcased for ages and had applied the 'one month rule' (if i still want it in a months time, it's mine).
- Receiving a free shot in my coffee today at starbucks after puchasing a starbucks card after reading about the potential freebies on this forum
- Whoopsied cheese scones in Sainsbugs (my favourite!) and being charged full price at the till. I went to customer services to complain (this often happens to me) and happened to mention that if it happened in Tescogs i would get double the difference back or a reward card if i was in Asbo's, and got double the refund as a 'gesture of goodwill'.
- Catching DD scrawling on the sofa (bear with me i do have a point LOL) and knowing exactly what to do to stop it from staining.
- DH taking DD upstairs to bed early when he got home from work (see above LOL).
- A lovely cup of tea with a whoopsied creme egg whilst watching hells kitchen.

Hi all
Missed a couple of days so here are a few pleasures over the last few days, in no particular order:
1 - Our two cats welcoming me on the gate and rolling on their backs to have their tummies scratched, just like little dogs! They are adorable!
2 - The weather, it is really making a difference to my life and mood.
3 - Getting a great price on the train tickets to Italy and back, going to visit my mum at the end of May.
4 - Visit to Aveda in Selfridges, getting a fav Aveda haircut for £25 and feeling virtuous with it because all the money goes to charity (it is their Earth Month and they offer a lot of treatments at reduced prices and the money goes to a water charity).
5 - Winning the Liz Earle cleanser from the Telegraph offer.
6 - Coming back home to a nice veg and lentil soup.
7 - Stepping on the scales at the GP weight clinic and finding that I have lost nearly 3 lbs since last time. YIPPEE!!!! Ollie take note: the book is working!:T
8 - A good keep fit class.
9 - Local persona trainer willing to give me a super-mega-discounted price for a few sessions if I go in his off-peak hours in between clients. I am probably going to make this investment on myself in the next few weeks and then turn up in Italy with abdomens of steel (yeh right LOL :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:) - that would give my family a shock, as they are always having a go at me for being fat - I know, I know, but I am used to it so I don't take a lot of notice!
10 - My DH could not give a fig for what size I am and he loves me just the way I am. I am very lucky and privileged to be with such a lovely man.
Good night all, catch up soon xxxFinally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
Hiya all
Im on my way to bed so will quickly give you my 5 pleasures for today before I fall asleep on my laptop!
1) Going to playgroup with a friend I haven't seen for a while and me catching up with her along with my ds catching up with her ds.
2) Doing the Hokey Cokey at playgroup with ds & other mums & kids - Its good for the soul!
3) Making a St Georges flag with ds at playgroup which I was glad about as so much seems to be governed by being pc nowadays - Then putting the lovely flag proudly in our window for all to see - ds was chuffed with his creation - but took a bit of convincing that it was not a "smelly Liverpool flag" (he's been so badly brainwashed by his dad he thinks anything red is smelly Liverpool) - No offence intended to any Liverpool FC Supporters who maybe reading this -just thought Id write about it as i found it amusing
4) Attending my free assertiveness course which I found really enjoyable as the subject was interesting & I met nice people too.
5) dfil came round for tea & brought a trifle with him that's bb date was today so had to be eaten - meant I was able to save tonights dessert until tomorrow.
Im off to bed - Sweet dreams all Xx0 -
jollymummy a wholesale order for cards, that sounds great, are they handcrafted? Will you be sitting up all night to meet targets?
My 5 for yesterday:-
1. Ironing up to date.
2. Making scones so that I don't have so much baking to do today.
3. Sowing seeds for Kale, chard, purple sprouting and brocolli into my new veg patch. They are all tucked under fleece at the moment and I have to think how to rig up a defence against the cabbage white butterflies.
4. Cutting the lawns. It did not do my back any good at all and DH was very cross with me but at least it's done:D I'm afraid his philosophy of 'just leave it' doesn't seem to be working.
5. A relaxing evening and an early night.

- glad you liked the Lancashire Hotpots, Sunny Girl and  well done on your April Grocery Challenge!
- well done on your 'paying it forward' Patchwork Quilt - and good to see you got something back so quickly at the tip :j.
- so right, sparrer - never ever ever get involved in their lives-
- :j well done on your long walks, Reverbe.
- lol at 'smelly Liverpool', scousewife - I've two 7 yr old dgs's - one's Everton the other Liverpool - so there's much rivalry and teasing going on when they meet. But well done to your playgroup at making St.George's Day flags :T. And a f-i-l who brings trifle for dessert - sounds like my kind of fella that you've got there.
- thank God for nurseries :j, jollymummy - what would we do without them eh? And good luck with the card order.
- :j on the left-over holidays, shopndrop - make sure you use them up. I've lost some every year for about 5 years. Well done on getting your rhubarb crown - mmmmm.
- hope your 'lonely sweet-pea' makes it, Primrose - What a survivor :j.
- great freebies there, scrummy-mummy - and good luck with ds and dd sleeping poor you! My ds2 started to sleep through around 3 and then turned into a sleep-walker:eek: - so good luck! (he's also the same one who needed to visit the local hospital EVERY school holidays - he's now 30 so survived his childhood ).
- wtg Caterina :j - great news on the weight loss and congratulations on having a lovely DH who loves you as you are. Hope you enjoy your trip to Italy and visit with your DM.
- good luck with the flutterbyes, bella - we love em among the flowers :)and hate em in the veggie patch don't we :mad:!
My five for yesterday are:
1. Seeing good signs of 'life' in my seedlings- freebie salads again this summer!
2. Meeting with the 'Homelessness Team' at work this afternoon - very informative - and a lovely freebie lunch thrown in .
3. Phone call from Calamity Jane (DD) - no electric - luckily I'd found £10 down the lining of my purse. Talk about 'the Lord providing before you know about the need' :T.
4. The weather being pleasant enough to be able to go over the side lawn again yesterday evening - only took an hour and a half this time, including the strimming (instead of h-o-u-r-s like last time) and didn't quite fill the garden waste bin (filled 3 last time ).
5. While I was doing that, I'd put chicken portions in the oven to roast - so tea was ready when I'd fiinished :j.
Looking forward to a Team Meeting with my colleagues this afternoon :j - these are great as we are all 'Lone Workers' and it's good to get together to swap notes.
Also got my mobile hairdresser coming tomorrow - I'll be a 'sexy, glorious red-head by tomorrow evening  - well forget the 'sexy, glorious' bit!
Hope everybody has a great day and speak again later  - love Ollie xx0
