Hiya. Posting twice in 2 days - I must be getting into the swing of it!

Lunch and art gallery with a friend today

More greenhouse salad - I think it's really exciting that we've been picking and eating our own salad leaves since October!

Watching Relocation, Relocation and and Grand Designs cosy on sofa

Got lounge tidied and dusted and laundry hung up in advert breaks

HM lasagne and salads with family for tea
  • Evening everyone - hope everyone is well - hugs to all who need a hug

    Five OS blessings for today:

    1. The smell of HM fresh bread from our new breadmaker
    2. The family's appreciation :D
    3. The family complaining about being served a "packet" tea tonight - was very late in from work and it was sitting in the freezer needing to be used
    4. The knowledge that working less and going OS is benefitting everyone in family
    5. DD (13) telling me that she loved me

    Happy Birthday Scousewife!!!

Sparrer - hope you are still being a good girl and taking things easy!

Olliebeak, hope you are feeling better and your cough is improving - a lovely remedy to soothe a cough is a mixture of lemon, honey, dried ginger and hot water. You can add this to a small tot of whisky if you like.
    ((((((((hugs for all )))))))
Ampersand it's very quiet without you!
    My 5 for today
    1. Managing to enlist with a NHS dentist AND having an appointment for a check up for a week tomorrow. I think this could count for all my blessings for a whole week!!!
    2. After shopping this morning deciding to take my lunch down to the sea front - in the car with the window down, the sun was warm on my face but the air was so cold - lovely, lovely, lovely
    3. Making my first ever batch of HM microwave lemon curd and DH saying it was scrummy
    4. Having a short trip out in the car this pm with DH and seeing beautiful pink clouds
    5. Buying 4 bunches of daffodils for the price of 2 - they look really pretty in a black vase on the hearth

Hope everyone sleeps well - Nan Night and may your God bless you
    xx
  • Here are a couple of mine from today

    1) Crocuses in the verges on the way to work. I just love the purple ones.
    2) Giving a friend a lift home and finding a very professional-looking home made heart-shaped jammie dodger on the back seat in a box when she'd gone.
    3) Managing to make a decent meal out of scraps in the fridge - DD's bf came unexpectedly
    4) Seeing DD in the school play this evening. I usually struggle with school plays although I'm always there to support, but this one was very good
    5) DH trying to put bins out for me but the bin men come on Friday. It feels like Friday!

    Night all. Sleep well

:hello: Hello from me to all the new posters too.

Patchwork, thanks for the bin reminder - ours come early on Thursday and I'd forgotten to put the bin out.
    Belated Happy Birthday, Scousewife! :D

    My five for Wednesday:

    1. DS2 planting out loads of seed trays of veg and herb plants and putting them on windowsills. He chopped up white washing-up liquid bottles to make labels as well. He was happy as anything doing all this and it was a pleasure to see him so content and to get that job done!

    2. Making a cafetiere of real coffee.

    3. Following some useful research and thinking, I've made a really big decision about goals and work plans for late next year. Lots of things have fallen into place. A weight has been lifted from my mind and I know where I am going with it all.

    4. Knitting while watching 'Grand Designs'. The care with which the building was being constructed was lovely to watch.

    5. Buying and storing more supplies for the store cupboard. I'm really enjoying having reached the point where I spot essential things on offer, feel organised enough to know we could use them, ie they are a genuine bargain and won't be wasted, and to have the space organised to store them.

Hugs to all, including Ampersand (wherever you are!)

    belated Happy Birthday scousewife _party_
    Ampersand where are you?????
mumoftwins do let us know when you find her, hope she turns up safe and well soon
    jvs you'll read I've been a good girl - honest (well almost ;) )
disflop perhaps we should have roll call lol
get better soon olliebeak, thank goodness you can 'pipe' through when you're not up to par. In the old days it was f2f every morning, by the time we'd got rounds done and heard all the woes we felt worse than when we started! Bless them :D

    Wednesday blessings...

    1. All the towels/bathmats etc dried on the line this morning, it was a lovely sunny day when I could have the doors/windows open and give the house a good blow through

    2. Had a bit of a go at the bathroom, it smells much sweeter now (I'd ask what men do in there but really don't want the answer!)

    3. Freecycled my comp desk and got 6 replies - I'm giving it to the lady who said please & thank you :o. Now I just have to find homes for all the junk I kept on it...the bin is a good starting point

    4. Tried an on-line shop but I was spending twice as much as I do when I go to the supermarket and hunt out the bargains . DNeighbour is taking me at the weekend which will be much cheaper..

    5. Just sitting here in the peace of my home, thanking my God for the NHS and all the incredible people who give so much of themselves so strangers can get well. Private health care has it's place but when it's really needed the NHS comes up trumps...I hope we never, ever have to adopt the American-style system

God bless, sweet dreams all x

Thank you all for your good wishes - slept on the sofa last night in an attempt to keep upright. Still managed to cough/splutter my way through most of the night. I've found that slowly swallowing a spoonful of honey every now and again is helping a bit - followed by a throat lozenge.

sparrer - oh the joys of the intercom system, lol! I've got 69 properties (about 87 individual tenants) - 28 of those properties are on a separate site about a mile away!). The 'system' that I've got routes all alarm calls to my work mobile which means that I can be 'got at' no matter where I am ;) - lol!

    These are for yesterday:

    1. Another quiet day in work - I think they are genuinely trying not to give me any problems at the moment. It's amazing how many things I found I could 'sort out' over the phone :).

    2. Found two lots of frozen 'turkey and bean chilli' - defrosted and served up with pasta for evening meal last night.

    3. Phone call from DD - could I collect dgk's from child care/after school club at 5.45 (which is becoming a 'bit of a habit' recently). She gives me more hassle at the moment than the tenants do ;).

    4. Lovely sunset last night - the Liverpool skyline was bright pinky/orange. Quite delightful as we're on a bit of a hill here.

    5. Settled down after evening meal to enjoy Emmerdale and Corrie last night.

    6. Looks like another beautiful day here this morning. Gorgeous sunshine at the moment even though it's very cold!

Hope everybody has a good day with lots of blessings.

    hi-hand.gif - a wave for ampersand!

So Sunday im gonna have a marathon session in the Jacuzzi and sauna and properly pamper myself!
