My 5 blessings for today
1. Buying stardrops in asda for 50p a litre
2. Visiting DM and DF. DF always comes to the car when I am leaving but it was pouring with rain so I told him to wave from the window - so I had my DM waving from one window and my DF waving from another - a memory to be stored and treasured
3. Baking a Victoria sponge for tea and DH having 2 pieces - froze the rest for another day
4.Having a giggle on the phone with my sister this morning
5. Hearing the rain against the windows as DH and I had an afternoon nap
Hope everyone is feeling on top of the world or as near to the summit as possible.

Nan Night. May your God bless you

Hi all
My pleasures for today are;
1) Seeing Sparrers post - I was beginning to worry & had missed reading her posts so her return is really welcome & cheered me up.
(Sorry to hear you have been unwell Sparrer. Take it easy & wishing you a speedy recovery x) :hello:
2) Walking in the rain alongside my 2 yo ds who had his head towards the sky with his mouth open tasting the rain & declaring that it was delicious! he does make me laugh :rotfl:
3) Jumping in puddles with my ds & not caring how silly I looked - I was enjoyin myself too much!
4) Having both my ds & dn fighting for my affection - Nice to feel wanted. :grinheart
5) Recieving an xmas pudding from dm who is now dieting so is getting rid of forbidden food.
6) Deciding to cook & eat out of date sausages instead of throwing them away - Glad I did as tasted delicious!

Thank you again for more lovely welcomes back, will be quick tonight but can't let one go by without the chance of listing a few blessings..
Tuesday blessings...
1. Guilty pleasure - I think my derriere is glued to the sofa. I've dozed on and off throughout the day and for once don't feel that I should be tearing about doing this and that. Not like me at all but no doubt in a few days the novelty will be gone
2. A myriad phone calls, txt messages, and some neighbours asking if there's anything they can do...the grass needs cutting, I could do with hiring a carpet shampooer (isn't it amazing how a house gets musty in no time?)..but think I'd better leave those hints for now
3. One of my 'clicky sites' put £40 in my bank for me while I was away :j
4. No-cook evening, we had curry - not at all OS but my taste buds certainly needed waking up after a week of extremely good but quite bland food
5. Have been looking at shopping on line, something I've not done before so am a bit hesitant. However everyone on MSE seems so positive about it I really will give it a try. I quite enjoy shopping, seeking out the bargains, but just this once I'll give in to my idleness and do it this way
6. Last but not least my DD brought my little dog back this evening - it was soooo lovely to see him again, I don't know who was jumping up and down most, and which one of us was more excited:rotfl:
Night night n God bless all x0 -
Hiya - Not had a good day (however, I am very grateful that the washing machine which was tripping the mains switch and seems to have brioken down allowed me to get the load of washing out so that I can do an OS hand wash tomorrow  and that the D&V bug, a bit later, held off just in time for me to get out of the car and into the house  - am now feeling better) but here goes for the other bits of Tuesday:
1. Getting a phone call from our landlord to say that the bathroom man will be contacting me to set a date for the complete refurbishment of our bathroom. They've offered to give us a shower and a new, properly insulated hot water cylinder which should help reduce our water heating bills.
2. Getting some more free seedsand ordering the bee friendly Blue Peter ones (wildlife seeds are the only plants I think I now need).
3. Having a long nap on the sofa.
4. Doing a little bit more knitting. It's such a peaceful thing to do and it's really lovely to see my handspun wool, which has been sitting around for years, now actually becoming something beautiful.
5. The giant mug of weak tea that I'm drinking right now.
Sweet dreams0 -
My 5 pleasures (Not all OS) of today -
1.My son safely reaching the age of 24
2.Bolognese in slow cooker - plenty to freeze some too
3.Fridge defrosted and cleaned out. Nothing to be thrown away
4.Washing machine loaded and ready to turn on when I go out later
5.Sitting down now to a lovely mug of coffee
Have a great day everybody

3. Getting a pile of paperwork sorted out.
4. A book I ordered at the library had come very quickly.
5. Having a good time with my best friend nattering & putting the world to rights.
Blessings to everyone & may today be a good one.0 -
Morning all,
My 5 for yesterday were:
1. Enjoying work
2. Meeting my friend for coffee after work (we used to see each other every day, but now that I work that has changed)
3. Not feeling at all tired when I got home
4. Having really good chat with twins when they came in from school
5. A sit down after tea whilst twins washed up - thank you kids, you are doing a great job!Christians Against Poverty - www.capuk.org0 -
Morning everybody - hope you're all having a beautiful sunny one like here in Liverpool today.
Great to see Sparrer and Reverbe back posting again.
I'm getting really peeeeeeed off with my cough at the moment - have now strained my throat and ribs/diaphragm with the coughing and again hardly any sleep last night. Still, we soldier on ................. lol!
1. Luckily not too busy a day in work yesterday - lots of sympathy for my 'croaky good mornings' on the intercom system.
2. Sent OH shopping yesterday - and he brought back 2 ready-made curries for evening meal. Said he wanted to save me the job of cooking hmmmmmm. So much for being OS! But he did also bring back some lovely, sweet and juicey Clementines which seemed to help my throat a bit.
3. Paid some more money off our holiday for May. While I was chatting to the lady on the phone, someone in the office asked her to say hello to me. It was a lady who used to work there about five years ago - how nice to be remembered.
4. Phone call from DS2 asking if we could have dgs3 for an hour or so. His g/f was at Uni for the evening and he'd promised dgs2(7yrs) to take him out for a Chinese buffet as a 'good boy treat'. He forgot to bring some baby food for dgs3, so I defrosted, warmed and 'whizzied' some of my HM Scouse - you should have seen him with his little mouth open every time he spotted the spoon. He looked just like a baby bird!
5. Baking a carrot cake for DD's birthday tomorrow. Need to put a creamy cheese topping on it later today.0 -
Yesterday's pleasures:-
1. Meeting DD in town for (her) shopping trip and lunch.
2. Spending very little money in town - mostly in Poundland.
3. Sourcing the cardigan locally for DD like the substandard one she'd seen in town. Nice to be of help.
4. 400grams of lean mince (£2 from Mr. A) bulked out with grated carrot and lentils and left in the slow cooker all day.
5. Making 3 x 2portion cottage pies with whoopsied potatoes. That was one for last night - yummy, and two to freeze and take on holiday.

1) Being entertained by my chickens in the garden this morning and collecting up the eggs!
2) Searching the recipe books to find another way to cook the lovely Sussex lamb in the freezer
3) Opening a new jar of HM marmalade
4) Clearing out the linen cupboard and putting all the seasonal quilts into vacuum packs to make more room in the cupboard and keep them clean.
5) Getting the final coat of paint on the walls in the spare room and releasing the landing of the spare room contents - at last! Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!
