  • A mix of yesterday and todays pleasures!

    1) Mr t came in post ..£8...now have a total of £35 so if i get a x4 deal i will be very happy

    2) Sun is shining...no heating on yesterday or today

    3) Washing can go outside

    4) made enough curry yesterday for today too. Used 2 tiny chicken breasts but the veg really padded it out. I realsie from coming on this forum how extravegent with meat I used to be!

    5) Took a huge back of videos to charity shop. they were in the house when we moved in and rather than either bin or car boot we felt a charity shop stop was better.

    My OS pleasures for Saturday:

    1. Going for a walk with OH in the sunshine :D We are really looking forward to the days getting longer and then we can go for a walk every evening.

    2. Stocking up the storecupboard and freezer and knowing I can loads and loads of different meals with the contents.

    3. Poached eggs on HM bread for lunch ... so much pleasure from such simple ingredients :D

    4. Reading some Christmas editions of magazines passed on to me, they'll be moving on to someone else shortly.

    5. Free blackberries (from our foraged store in the freezer) and HM yoghurt .. pure bliss :D
Enjoying an MSE OS life :D
  • Have PM'd you ampersand, many thanks.:A

Further to my OS pleasures so far today of:
    1. A cracking cup of tea and some toast.
    2. Utilised the economy7 tariff with washing machine overnight.

    My others are:
    3. We've agreed to go to the cinema shortly, will pack our OS drinks and snacks.
    4. Will prepare my sunday veg (love doing this in front of the tv, how lazy!) before we go to the cinema so dinner will be easier to do when we get home.
    5. ampersand kindly offering one of her TieRack pashminas.
:) Declutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage

Less things. Less stuff. More life.
 Fab thread: Long daily walks
  • My five:
    • Going on a long bike ride yesterday. Even though I'm rather sore it was good fun, good exercise and free. OK, we've had to buy the bikes but it's a long term 'spend to save' as we'd only be out shopping or visiting places you need to pay for otherwise.
    • Having a three day weekend. This has been lovely, three lie ins instead of the usual two have been really needed and I've got so much done, despite the lie ins! I may start a petition for a three day weekend every week!
    • Having a huge stack of work shirts to iron. This is quite a random one as I normally hate ironing but it means that MrS has a job and will be back to work the week after next. So, technically he's only had 8 days of unemployment and we can breathe again financially. :T
    • Having the breadmaker on and the slowcooker on at the same time and my house smelling delicious. It is making me rather hungry but as I must have burnt off a billion calories (OK, a slight exageration) yesterday riding my bike I am having a greedy day today. :D
    • Taking stock of how little we've spent while MrS has been out of work and knowing that we could manage reasonably well on one wage if it happens again. Before this whole episode, I didn't think we stood a chance.:money:

  • I was feeling tired and grumpy that last couple of weeks. But this week I recharged my batteries and I am feeling very upbeat.

    1) Packing all the boys off to rugby and enjoying the sound of silence
    2) Making pizza dough for the post rugby lunch
    3) Doing 2 loads of laundry and starting the ironing
    4) Walking up to the shops to get cooking apples and the Sunday papers
    5) I am about to sit down to a nice cup of coffee and read the papers

    8. Throughly enjoying the sun being out.

Only one today but the pleasure is big enough to last me all week !

    1. We were up at the crack of dawn emptying our small fibreglass pond, storing the water and taking care of the first two newly emerged newts from hibernation. Digging out new hole for pond, relocating it and refilling it again. All this effort has resulted in a muddy trampled lawn but it has gained us a valuable additional two square meters of growing space in our vegetable patch. Whilst doing all this we spotted the first frog coming out of hibernation from a small "sink pond" located in our veggie patch, so it looks like we got the pond relocated just in time for the local wildlife to move back in.
