puss14, reverbe..my thoughts and prayers go out to everyone in Victoria, the residents suffering, their relatives and friends who must be worried out of their minds, and the firefighters and volunteers risking their own lives to save others. I too have a friend whose family live in Melbourne, fortunately she now lives in Queenstown NZ but they've seen the smoke cloud from that far. Terrible...

kiwiblue it's good to see you back, pleased OH had a day free of pain and that all is well after the fire scare

    Sunday blessings...

DD and DS both celebrated their birthdays today. They're not twins but were born 9 years apart...I did try to hold out but DS arrived at 11.50pm

    2. A quiet uneventful Sunday. Sometimes those are the best, it gives me time to recharge my batteries

    3. Cleaned the bathroom top to bottom. I love white suites, they gleam with such little effort (until DS has his bath )

    4. Found a tin of tuna in the cupboard, a bit rusty round the edge but still in date - just :rolleyes2 . Mixed it with some Polish mayo and put it on a jacket spud then topped with grated cheese. Too much protein I know but it was delish and I made up for it with lots of fruit this afternoon. Shared the leftover tuna with the mogs and some apple and satsuma with the mutt

    5. Spent ages talking with DS this evening as he and his fiance have been in Scotland for the weekend, organising their October wedding. I suppose that means I've got to start shopping for a new 'at now
  • Im back after a bit of a break. Had a rough week again ast week and ended up going into surgery - the one thing i didnt want to do but it was ok in the end. So back to my positives. I'll do my ist for the weekend i think...

    1. Making the new rule that the tv only goes on if there is something inparticular we want to watch.
    2. Discovering that reading a book and doing crossstitch in from of the fire whie chatting about our day is a much nicer way to end the day.
    3. Managing to get 4 meals and sandwiches out of one chicken.
    4. Joining the library something i have meant to do for ages and borrowing a book on crafts and two bed time reading books.
    5. Being inspired by all the crafts in above book and planning lots of projects for gifts and around the home.
    6. Planning a new routine and having this week to get into it and regain some sense of normality before venturing back to work.
    7. Finally being physically pain free and giving my heart time to grieve for my beautiful baby - i feel i can finally begin to move forwards from this now.

Oh Raggydoll - hugs to you :grouphug: I really hope things get better soon, you do sound so positive and looking forward :A

My 5 for the weekend are:-

    1) Having a lie in with my darling b/f as the children were over with their Nan for the weekend.

    2) Making a ** looks around and whispers** a "Macdonald style" brekkie at home after the lie in, together with the b/f using muffins (reduced), free range eggs (from the farm up the road) and some lovely cured back bacon I'd got on a bogof somewhere along the line and then finding the packet lurking in the back of the freezer doing a store cupboard challenge.

    3) Oh the ironing again - still not using the dryer

    4) Sitting doing my daughter's homework with her.

    5) Sitting here doing my list for the weekend to have been told by my boss to come in later because the road where we work is shut!! Yay...

I didn't post yesterday because we were out from very early to very late again but I just wanted to say to Puss14 that I've been following some of the online news which is frightening and awful and I wanted to send you hugs and say I'm thinking of everyone. x

Hugs to Raggydoll as well. Carry on being gentle and kind to yourself and ask for help and time to grieve as you need it. x

Kiwiblue - I'm glad you're back too. Hooray for your OH's pain free day!

    Will post today's five tonight.

thoughts are with Raggydoll and the poor people in Australia.

Haven't posted for a while as haven't had much chance to get on pc.

    1. Just took a homemade frozen shepherds pie out of the freezer. I love being able to do that. A healthy meal with minimim effort.
    2. Going to bed early last night for an hours read before sleep.
    3. Feeling virtuous as have stripped all the beds on my day off, will enjoy getting into clean sheets tonight.
    4. Forced myself to go the gym for an hours workout.
    5. Staying in with friends on Saturday night and having an Indian and a couple of bottles of wine. Prob spent about £25.00. But they would prefer to go to the pub which would have cost us at least £50 with drinks and taxis. Plus didn't have to go out in the cold.
    6. Lying in on Sunday until 10am as my youngest had stayed night in my sisters. Doesn't happen often so I appreciate it when it does.

  • HI Everyone
Raggydoll, lots of hugs from "down under", I hope that you will start to recover now. Don't try to rush the grieving, it will take time, and allow others to show how they care.
    My five.

    1. Phone call from OH who is busy chasing marlin off a volcanic island on the East Coast, he's having a ball (and another pain free day)

    2. Picking a kilo of blackberries from the marshes, just me, the dog and some royal spoonbills, it was beautiful!

3.Steeping some of the blackberries in hm vodka, ready for this years batch of blackberry liqueur.

    4. Tai Chi, its starting to come naturally, and its a great way to start the day.

    5. Its raining - we have had so many hot dry days that the garden has been suffering so much, we are on tank water, so in mid summer I have to ration water for the garden, now the plants are looking so much better.

    Blessings be
    Jennie
