So sorry to hear that Ragdoll and so impressed that you are still looking at the positives (((((big hugs))))).

    1. Everywhere is nice and clean so we can come back from our weekend away to a lovely tidy house
    2. Made up a pasta bake from some LO brocolli and cauliflower so i can freexe it for dinner next week.
    3. The lovely smell of cake that i now need to go and ice
    4. Reading a really interesting book called confessions of an eco shopper, about a woman who was tryin to live a more eco/OS lifestyle. I'm almost convinced to get a mooncup now....well almost!
    5. The clean smell of all the shirt which I washed that are now drying in the living room.
I'm off to see and friend and celebrate her b'day this weekend so should have lots of pleasures to report on Monday.

((((((((raggydoll))))))) you truly are amazing, I admire you for finding the strength to sound so positive, even if inside it doesn't feel too much like that at the moment. Yes do keep posting when you can, it's good to hear how everyone in this forum is doing and be able to offer, at the very least, some moral support to each other.
    God bless,
    Sparrer x
  • Hmmm, not sure I cn think of five today as it's not a good day :( but let's have a go:
    1. Having a half day and spending time meal planning for the next goodness knows how long
    2. Going to fetch my new (spend to save) curtains which have finally been delivered. These should really help keep my bedroom warmer and were on sale when I ordere them in :D
    3. Not being devastated when MrS got the final notice that he is now redundant. I know i can get through it thanks to this site :j
    4. Putting the camping kettle on top of the wood burner for the first time and realising that it does get hot enough for tea. This will now be used reguarly while the fire is lit

hi, not posted for a long time but i always enjoy reading everyone's posts.

hugs to all who need one, but especially to raggydoll - xxx.

    my five for yesterday/today:

    1. watching ds2 enjoy playing with a load of playdoh for hours while...
    2. i made a huge batch of chili in the slow cooker
    3. lovely friend popped round for chat & cuppa
    4. made a big pot of healthy and yummy veg soup, got the recipe from a friend on wednesday. it's made loads - 3 portions frozen, 1 eaten and 2 more in the fridge for tomorrow. :D
    5. following tip from a kim and aggie (how clean is your house) book, i filled up the bath with water and a few large scoops of bio washing powder. left to soak for about 8 hours with 2 shower heads and hoses in it - the bath and bits have come up like new. using a bathful of water maybe not so good, but i have never been able to get it as clean - it's due replacing really but funds don't allow that at present.

    Hi all!

Raggydoll, I am so sorry about the loss of your baby ((((((HUGS)))))).

Sparrer my last post with so many pleasures was not over a day, but several days! I wish I could fit all that in one day, I'd be Superwoman!

Reverbe I can't wait to hear how your interwiev went, hope you get the best job ever!

I was not here yesterday, so let me put yesterday's ones first:

1 - Beans cooked and ready for another batch of HM freezable baked beans

2 - My herbal medicine class, I learnt how to make onion syrup, good for coughs (basically chop onions and layer in a jar with sugar. Start and finish with a layer of sugar. After a few hours it forms a liquid, that's the syrup. Keep in fridge and use 1-2 tsps per day to ease a cough).

3 - After the class, knitting and cake with friends at Blackheath Age Exchange.

4 - A really tasty HM veg curry and dal - why did I ever bother with takeaways?

5 - Evening lecture "Of Cabbages and Kings" about urban agriculture in cities, how many projects are growing veg in London and how there is a plan to have 2012 community veg growing plots in London by the year 2012 - I hope it really happens!

    Today:

1 - Started a basic ed. Maths class and realising that it is really FAR TOO BASIC, so decided to not enrol and free another 3 hours of my week. I did not realise I knew so much maths since leaving school!

2 - The Trustees at my job have accepted my proposal to cut 10 hours from my 52 hours per month work - we are having some funding difficulties and I would rather spread my hours gently and have some work after March than have my hours suddenly and drastically cut. Also, 2 1/2 hour per week loss is financially not too dramatic, and I have a bit more time for my crafts!

3 - Lunch at my friend's house (delicious, stir fry veg with wholemeal spaghetti, topped with grated parmesan).

4 - DD has an interview for one of her choices of Uni in a few days time!

5 - Baked beans prepared and ready to go in the freezer once they are cold.

    Good night, all!
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).

Raggydoll so very sorry to hear of your loss.

    Mine for last few days:

    1. Being fit and healthy enough to have been out and about so much I've only just had time to come on and catch up!
    2. Enjoying lovely day out with a friend and picking up some bargain wools.
    3. Browsing books to reserve to read at the library - not so long ago I would just have bought them without a second thought.
    4. Buying some knitting needles at the charity shop for 59p rather than the 3.50 they are new.
    5. Making 2 big pans of soup with veg from the local market - much cheaper than the supermarket.
  • Big hugs to you raggydoll you are very brave remaining positive at such a heartbreaking time - my thoughts are with you x

    Hi all
    My 5 for today are;
    1) After reading raggydolls post & having been through the same thing a few years ago I appreciate having my ds all the more.
    2) Cooking a turkey & barley soup in the slow cooker which tasted delicious!
    3) Attending 2 free playgroups with ds and still managing to stay awake.
    4) Kepping my ds awake after such a busy day - fingers crossed he will sleep tonite.
5)Putting some Vodka in a coke bottle & putting it in my handbag in preparation for my nite out - so only have to buy glasses of coke at the bar ;)

    Have a good weekend all
    xxx
