Reverbe I always turn the volume up when the babies come on and giggle..oh, the innocence! Will keep everything x'd for your interview :)

    Thursday blessings...

    1. A whole day without the news and not having to listen to/watch anything to do with America

    2. Defrosted the freezer in prep for an MSE/OS/frugal shop tomorrow (today)

    3. Vac'd through the ground floor and halfway up the stairs before I ran out of lead/steam :D

    4. Heard that DM who went for a health check today is almost 100% fit, just a minor prob getting breathless on walking too far - but she is 87 and a darned sight fitter than me!

    5. The boiler man came to do a service, he asked if I have the handbook that came with the boiler...I went straight to it and he nearly fell over, said nobody keeps them more than a year and could he photocopy it as the boiler, 15 yeas old, is now obsolete? I took it up to the printer and did it while he was here, he was like a kid at a birthday party :rotfl:
  • I'm a longtime lurker but wanted to add a couple of OS pleasures that make me smile

Listening to Terry Wogan on the radio each day - and his listeners view on the world.

On BBC news this morning - an item about pigeon fanciers and getting young people interested. One little lad says 'I like pigeons cos they come in all colours.....except green!'

Best Wishes to everybody and thanks to everyone who posts advice. This is a fantastic site with a great community.

    Morning here's mine:

    1. Finding out I've won a prize worth £300!! and planning where to flog it :p

    2. Dreaming about spending a bit of the money on new saucepans (most of ours seem to have acquired "blown bottoms" so completely useless on a ceramic hob

    3. HM leek and tatty soup for lunch (and 3 more lots in the freezer for next week) :D

    4. Knowing I have just enough food for the weekend (in case I don't get paid today) and then after that I have to get creative with what's left lurking ;)

    5. It's Friday! and I should get paid soon ;)

    1. I count reading all your comments as one of my pleasures. I love having a little insight into each other’s lives.
    2. Going to bed early most nights this week and reading “Pillars of the Earth” by Ken Follett. Would def recommend lending this from Library.
    3. Finally figuring out (after 6 months) how to put my eldest sons PS3 online, he has been really upset as all his friends can play together and he couldn’t.
    4. Going to my sons Parents Evening, buying some Fare Trade goods and seeing that my son has grown in confidence talking to the Teachers etc.
    5. Coming home from a long day in work to a home made dish of peppers and onions fried, then simmered in seasoned tinned tomatoes with mozzarella cheese melted in at the end. Then Parmesan on top. Served with pasta a really warming meal. My husband cooks very rarely so I really appreciate it when he does. (the lazy so and so - but I won’t dwell on that seeing as I am counting my blessings..)

  • I have watched this thread for quite a while now and love reading it but don't normally post on it. I have had a rough time lately - i am currently waiting for my body to miscarry my first baby who has sadly stopped developing and I think this would be a lovely way to concentrate on the positives in each day so am going to try and join in!

So i will do yesterdays now and have a think about todays later!

    1. drying my washing infront of the log burning stove while it was raining outside instead of bunging it in the tumble dryer.
    2. Smelling a loaf of bread baking in the BM.
    3. Taking the dogs for a lovely long walk and enjoying the fresh air and peace and quiet.
    4. Working on my cross stitch - i used to do these but haven't for years and bought one recently as i thought it would be a good distraction for me.
    5. Whipping up a meal out of things i found in the cupboard - tin of tomato soup, chorizo, peperroni, cream, cheddar, parmesan and it actually tasting nice with a slice of homemade bread (i hate cooking!!)

Have already posted my 5 today but just had to say how sorry I am about the baby, you are an inspiration to be able to think about posting your positives at a time like this.
    Best wishes
