    3. Just about to have an early night and go to bed with Ken Follett book that has v good reviews not forgetting my lovely hottie.

I think this is such a sweet nickname for your other half...... And I bet he thinks its a great way to cheer up a miserable winters night....

I thought that Bluenose meant a hot water bottle!!! Not a hot other half!

Best add my 5 pleasures now I'm here:

    1. Meeting up with a friend who I've not seen for 29 years, and finding out we like each other just as much as we ever did! Next meeting already arranged!
    2. Using my Lakeland Bulk yoghurt maker for the first time - OK, the results are very runny, but apparently that's because I'm making soya yoghurt. Think i have sussed how to get it nice and thick for the next time.
    3. My brother calling to say that the loaf I baked for him using my new breadmaker was fine (" I can't find anything wrong with it at all" was his idea of saying it was OK  )
    4. Preparing lots of veg to help fill up my newly defrosted freezer.
    5. Realising that I am well on course to win my January grocery challenge.
Life is not a dress rehearsal.

    My five pleasures for today...

    1. Kiwiblue's food posts: basil, plums, chutney, potatoes, orchards, blackberries and most especially the apricots - please keep posting about food. It makes me feel like it's summer here!

    2. Several supportive phone calls with lots of laughter with friends about a tricky situation we are trying to sort out.

    3. Eating rather too many juicy clementines from the veggiebox.

    4. I've recently done some intensive tutoring (and morale boosting) for an 11 yr old who's been sitting school entrance exams over the last couple of weeks. I spoke to her on the phone at tea time and her last set of exams went well and she sounds in good shape.

    5. Getting going with clearing out more 'stuff' - got a crateload of old magazines and catalogues into the recycling before the lorry arrived to collect them and it's made a good dent in the corner of the room that is being currently decluttered.

    Sweet dreams...

Gosh Catrina it exhausts me just reading of all you achieve in a day!
    Hello earlybird Broomstick;)

    Wednesday blessings...

    1. I had my leccy bill today, they owe me over £80! Phoned and requested it, I prefer to earn the interest, no matter how little, rather than let them have it :p

    2. Feeling so much better with what feels like a pharmacy inside me so I visited DD, parked the car under some trees and came out to find the birds had pooped all over it - I do not want a blue and white polka dot effect on my paintwork  . Got home and washed it myself, saving £6 which the hand wash in the village charges.

    3. Had the korma I made yesterday with some easy-cook rice from my approved food box. Simple, frugal and very tasty.

    4. Went to a meeting this evening and passed on MSE web site address to a couple of friends who are concerned re the recession.

    5. Spent a short time outside as it was so lovely and sunny, and not icy cold for a change. Everything is shooting/sprouting, as a first-time gardener I'm getting quite excited to have apples, gooseberries and lots of herbs this year, and am thinking I might pluck up courage to get even more adventurous . I'd better go and read the green fingered forum and pick their brains about gardening for idiots :rotfl:

Couldnt post this last night as the forums weren't working so here are Wednesday pleasures...

    1. 1 Reese peanut butter Oreo.

    2. babies giggling on the Cow & Gate ad. Gets me giggling back every time.

    3. 3 dvds from lovefilm

    4. HM chicken and veg soup for lunch

    5. Obama Dvd free with the paper

    6. more cheap wool for when I begin to knit (now I only need someone to teach me!)

    7. YS pork, apple & cranberry sausages from freezer, with YS dolcelatte mixed into some pasta for dinner

    8. laughing at Russell Crowe attempt both comedy and a British accent in "A Good Year" - good film which would have been funny if someone else was delivering the lines.

    9. fish and chips from an award winning local chippy brought home by my flatmate.( havent had f&C for about 3 years and this chippy is meant to be good butyou can only get to it with a car and last night his business partner had use of one and went to chippy for his birthday meal)

    10. Snuggled under blankets and watched the film "Delicatessen"
    What Would Bill Buchanan Do?
  • Here are mine for today:

    1. using a lovely (massive) piece of steak from my Dad's farm. It's home reared pedigree Welsh black, and I know exactly how well the bullock was treated and what he was fed. Not quite organic but as close as I get! My Dad took him to the butcher but couldn't face going to get the meat so asked my BF to do that (sorry if TMI)

    2. making a goulash with the aforementioned steak using a spice pack my brother bought back for me from his holidays in Budapest. It's bubbling away in the SC while I'm at work (hopefully!)

    3. looking forward to the slow cooked goulash - won't have to spend long making supper tonight!

    4. looking forward to going for a run tonight - very MSE way of getting / keeping fit. Will be my 4th run of C25K tonight and BF says he's coming with me (but we'll see :rotfl: )

    5. realising that it's doing me good to have to wait a while longer for broadband at my BF's house. BT were meant to come and install a new line next week but they have to upgrade the cables (or something like that) and that won't be done until the 11th of March. I don't like waiting for things, but it will be worth it in the end (I keep telling myself that!)

I really enjoy reading this thread although I don't get to post here often. Here are some of mine for the last few days
    • waking up to sunshine on so many mornings recently
    • a leisurely shower this morning, so nice not to have to rush today
    • lovely messages from my dd and ds
    • drying 2 loads of washing indoors and finding other places to hang it :D
    • going through my bookshelves and finding several interesting books I’d forgotten were there, and that’s just on one shelf!
er hanging washing - I'd only been using the airers  then I realised I could hang things on the shower rail and on a couple of big old hooks in the stairwell, and a fitted sheet dries quite nicely over the bannister ...... ;)
... don't throw the string away. You always need string! :D

  • Mine for today are

    1) Seeing something coming up in our new garden. Could be snowdrops. I can't wait.
    2) Reading the thread on not using loo roll. Laughed until I cried.
    3) Spending £78 in on the shopping. This is a huge improvement. Where did it go?
    4) Leaving hm soup for family for tea. Hm chocolate cake on side.
    5) Going out later with girlfriends on cheap meal offer. We don't really care about the food we just need to talk to each other.
