VW fiddling emissions data

It's possible that this won't be a problem for VW in Europe, because the emissions levels required here are much less stringent than those in the US, particularly California. A car that passes the emissions tests comfortably here might be twice the limit in the US, and require slight 'tweaking' to get through the tests there.
The thing I am surprised about is that people are surprised. If someone is nice to you but rude to the waiter, they are not a nice person.0 -
If you time it correctly, VW shares could be a good buy.0

Trust is mentioned in their 2015 strategy...
I think it took some balls to admit to this being not a 500,000 vehicle problem but an 11,000,000 vehicle problem, but let's face it, it was one almighty deception. The shares will recover - but current business plans may have to be shelved for a bit...0 -

That would be a brave move. There will no doubt be a lot of announcements of change at VW, which will make the share price volatile. As a long term investment, you'd be safe buying now because the share price will eventually make its way back up.0 -

Yes, if you time it so you buy when it's stopped droppingor nearly stopped dropping then in the long term the price is likely to recover.
When the fines are announced the share prices normally rise due to the end of the speculation. The prices will rise sharply if the fines end up being less than originally expected.
The price could still drop further in the next few days.
For future reference the current price is 111 euros.
I would expect other vehicle manufacturers share prices to also be affected especially any others indulging in similar practices0 -
We have a new diesel car on order with them, deposit paid, expected to pay the remainder and collect it next month. Not sure what to think or do! Can I cancel the order based on this scandal?0

VW released a statement to say that Euro-VI cars are not affected.0 -
There must have been a whole team 'in the know' on this scam. Someone must have written and tested that software cheat. I'm surprised the truth never got leaked from anyone at VW.0

The VW board need to be locked in a enclosed room with the affected cars, so that they can experience the full benefit of their ultra-clean diesels.0
