CY what a **** you don't need that. Hope it's fixed soon.

So far today, and counting my whole house as the RoD I have:
    - put ribs and veg in slow cooker
    - got to mobile library
    - posted letters, picked up a couple of things from village shop and joined in their MacMillan coffee fund raising. Lovely day to sit outside in sun (shop has an area outside where they put several tables & chairs, kind people donate cakes) chatting to neighbours.
    - started/continued weeding and general tidying in front bed (garden not sleeping bed although I wouldn't be surprised to find weeds upstairs!)
    - gradually catching up with emails

Lots of things which need to be done this weekend so I'm not even going to list them. Keep spotting enormous webs everywhere.
    But lunch now!
Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.

Dusty- happy anniversary whatever you decide to do.
CY- it seems that everything that is being done to try and make your life a little easier is backfiring. Calming vibes being sent your way.

Have sorted our bedroom and quickly blitzed the bathrooms. Going onto the school run in a bit and then out for the rest of the evening so this will all carry over to tomorrow!

Run the WM and/or DW on a hot wash to keep its insides happy

    Thankful Thursday: Bedroom(s)
Wipe door handles and light switches

Oh didn't realise how much I had done! Should really look at Friday's list although might just be a case of tidying the rooms that ds2 has demolished today! It really is a never ending job!:rotfl:

Also, putting a toots list together for OH as there are some jobs which need doing that he keeps forgetting about!

I've just washed up. Feeling tired and cold this afternoon, no idea why. Think I'll hoover the LR to warm up/do something and refill the log basket for tonight, ah and maybe take some iron and B12 which i've been neglecting.

CY... you have to laugh at the craziness of it! It is only a hob and in the broad scheme of things a bit trivial if utterly inconvenient.. so long as no one was hurt that's all that matters.. casseroles and takeaways though :) ... I bet the person who did it was absolutely horrified!!! I bet their face was a picture... I think I'd have cried if that was me!!

Best get some parcels parcelled and trot my little self to the post office.. 6 blobs of yarns floated away from my house today.. I will miss them :(

    ooh.. best add flapping...

    OH did the DW

I cleared half a worksurface.. then filled it with tiles! which in turn cleared the hallway so I vacuumed it and put the pushchair in the gap.
Front room vacuumed and smelling less of corpse than it was.. I think we either have something dead under the floorboards or something dead in the chimney.. either way.. it stinks in there!

I MUST stuff up the hole in the toilet which was the overflow for the previous loo.. it is FREEZING.. for such a tiny hole it makes a massive difference!

2 loads dried.. 1 still to fold.

I am going to do dinner then get some dyeing done.. some Halloweeny colours and on Monday some Christmassy ones.. I should have my sparkle yarns by then!

Hob fixing vibes heading your way, CY.

More blackberries picked and Nigella's Clementine cake is baking in the oven. It's flourless, and the last time I made it it turned out a bit flattish, so I've done my homework by watching Bake Off and realised how to get it to rise. It's risen beautifully and only sunk a tiny tiny bit in the middle so I must be learning something. Good oh. That bodes well for the plastering course which starts tomorrow. Eat your heart out Hollywood.

Flyladies may remember I was researching the man who should have been my grandfather, Kenneth Robinson, late last year and early this year. Today is the 100th Anniversary of his death. He was a doctor, and was shot going to help a wounded man. I had a little weep for him this morning; so, they are not forgotten. Ever. He was killed at 9.00pm so we'll be lighting a candle for him tonight. I didn't know this until today, but apparently 25th September 1915 was the heaviest casualty day of the war up to then, so he'd probably had the day from hell.
    Better is good enough.

HHC while I have a cuppa.. Anyone up for joining me? This room is a total pit! And my yarn soaks..

How would one steam a large salmon??? would wrapping it in foil and putting it in the SC water in bottom and fish on the stand work? So it was suspended above the water... or does it need to be done another way? I hate tinned salmon but this was £3 for a huge fillet and I thought seasoned and steamed it might be nicer.. I have never steamed anything that didn't fit in my steamer!

HB.. My should-have-been-grandfather was blown to bits on a ship :( it's very sad.. all those lovely young men :( I look at my boys and think they weren't much older than them.. mine can barely wipe their own behinds never mind kill others.. it is heartbreaking.

    Hoovering done
    Mog beds changed

HB it is odd how 'famiy' we have never met can have such an emotional pull on us, i'm glad you think of him.

Going to get the washing in and mop the floor then feed the mogs and dust the LR.

(((Hugs))) and speedy hob replacement vibes, CY.

We have flown to and from the boys' school several times this week and eaten lunch out every day, I've ironed DSiL's shirts, we've walked round some beautiful gardens and been to the theatre, I've cooked a few meals, and we've generally had a very relaxing time. We return home tomorrow via the Malvern Autumn Show, to a house that is tidy but will be very much in need of some dusting and hoovering.

    Weekend flying list:

    Mop floors
    hoover upstairs
    Dust upstairs
    Clean the sinks
    Laundry
    Wash towels

If I can get that done then I can concentrate on just doing the DR and dailies next week when life will be quite busy.

Dinner now and then must drop a present down to a friend.
