In a world that has decided that it's going to lose its mind, be more kind my friend, try to Be More Kind
  • Hope you get Lapland sorted bossy.

My meeting yesterday finished early so was home by 5.30 and managed to get quite a bit of flying done before the rugby was on. Watched the first half then did a bit of sorting out the stuff from the shed - think I'll have it finished tonight whilst watching Gogglebox then just need to sort out the bags of shoes and coats still in the shed.

My Room of Doom is the shed which really does need a good sort-out now the spare room is usable, so that's my project for today and the weekend...

Fabby Friday - Room of Doom – your choice

  • ... need to decide what to do tomorrow as our anniversary, plan to go out in the day with the boys but DH might want to pick up a new car bonnet and I want a need new large flower pot (romatnic us or what) so need to plan carefully.

I've created a Toots list of things that need doing or buying ideally before the end of the year.

Am I the only one who finds making real life better by doing practical things together much more truly romantic than shelling out shedloads of money on an indifferent 'experience?'

I love the idea of your Toot's list for action by the end of the year - I'm composing my 2016 List. Don't want to rush these things. It's not procrastination - its planning.

    Happy birthday Valli's DS.

Withering vibes for nasties, particularly those making their home around CY.

Low level flying taking place here until the weekend when this batch of guests depart and a new person, just the one thank goodness, arrives. Fortunately because I've kept on top of things it shouldn't involved a huge amount which is just as well because I'm a bit over-tired.

Chalet visited yesterday and winterized, but in the process the internal stopcock blew, so that now needs to be fixed. Grr. Probably my bad. I'm doing a mass of practical evening classes over the next academic year but plumbing isn't one of them. Double Grr because it's the set of skills I need most often but it's not on offer at moment. I'll be at the front of the queue when it is. OH managed to block the en suite loo this morning but fortunately I know exactly how to deal with that. (Gravity is a marvellous thing.)
    Better is good enough.

Nicki that is a lot of walking, find out where you would have got to if you had done it in a straight line!

According to my fitbit I reached 990 miles on 16th September which is the equivalent of walking the entire length of New Zealand. According to Distance Calculator, I'm somewhere around Budapest in Hungry  If I keep this average mileage per day up (4.3 miles a day) I would have walked 1419 miles by New Year, or to somewhere around Sofia in Bulgaria. However I know that in the run up to Christmas I walk a lot more so I'm aiming to hit 1500 miles by New Year ;)

Late start here as we had an unplanned lie-in. Had to put my phone on charge so I've decided to have a shower. Only problem is I'm waiting on DD getting out of the shower. She went up at 9.15  I think I have my shopping lists sorted for today. As long as I remember stuff from the further afield places that's what's important. Walking to town is a doddle as I've done it so often, but walking to the three other places means about an hour each way including crossing the main ring road, and then I do a lot of shopping in those places as I save it up as it takes so long to get there, then walking back is normally not an option and I'm not willing to pay £2.20 to jump the bus in one direction. I'd rather pay £4.20 and do them all in one day when I can get as many buses as I like ;)

    Personal:
    - Look at gas and elec renewal
    Master bedroom
    - Organise wardrobe again
    - Wipe paintwork
    DD's bedroom
    - Wipe paintwork
    - Sort wardrobe (shelf, clothes, shoes)

    Happy Monday: Kitchen

    • Wipe over your big appliances
    Terrific Tuesday: Bathroom
    Level 3
    Empty and freshen any bins.
    Wash a window or two.

    Wonderful Wednesday: Living Room
    Level 3
Wipe any grotty finger marks away

    Thankful Thursday: Bedroom(s)
    Level 2
Strip the bed. - Sunday job

I'm going to go and kick DD into gear. She still hasn't realised the longer she takes to get ready the more rushed we are when we're out and about.

lol, many years ago I got Mr N a skip for his birthday - we were demolishing an old garage at the time, and it seemed useful to tell all our friends there was a barbecue and demolition party, so bring a bottle and a sledge hammer. Worked a treat! Have a good day whatever you do.
