Sorry wasnt completely sure how to explain what the material was yesterday. Be good if we could post pics.
It is unsightly because it is 1ft above the fence line, so as soon as you walk in to our garden, you dont see a lovely 6ft fence anymore, you see 6ft fence with a foot of mesh/or whatever it is going along the fence for 100ft. Its all odd pieces.Regards

Is it at the bottom or top of the fence?
........and do you by any chance have a few cats?
Have posted a pic below :-)Regards

Ah yes, that is ugly.
Your fence means you can ask them to remove it. Be polite but firm.
If they want to put stuff up on a fence they can build one on their side and attach it to that."If you think it's expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur." -- Red Adair0 -

Agreed, it doesn't look nice, but if they did build their own fence, then the OP will still be able to see the chicken wire.
I assume they've done it to stop cats.0 -
That's anti-cat. Do you have a cats?Do you want your money back, and a bit more, search for 'money claim online' - They don't like it up 'em Captain Mainwaring0

Agree, that is unsightly, think a polite request to remove would be reasonable, and as for it been anti cats , I agree with this too.The person who never makes a mistake never learns anything.0
