  • I filled in the form and a couple of weeks ago, I received a cheque for £67. I knew it wasn't going to be much. Today, I received a 2nd cheque, this time from Lloyds banking Group for £27, which they claim was for payments OUTSIDE the remit of the AI Scheme, but has been paid out as a result of claiming.
  • Help which template do I use to claim compensation?
  • I put in a complaint to Barclaycard in early October. A week later got a form asking for banking details which I duly sent back. Got another letter saying they would get back to me by October 29th which came and went. Got a letter yesterday to say it will be resolved by November 26th, not sure why it's taking them this long to come to a decision. AI scheme settled with £217 last week.
  • Hey Guys,

Just to let you know that I have received a cheque today from Lloyds for £185 this was after the initial AI scheme cheque for £35. I didnt do anything to prompt this payment it says they are backdating it to 1998 following my successful application to AI scheme
  • Hi, I'm new to the forum so hopefully this post will end up on the main AI Sentinal blog!
I just wanted to say thanks to all those people contributing to the forum that helped me get far more compensation than I expected!

I got a letter from AI several months ago, filled in the voting form and the claims form with the help of the MSE Template.
I was disappointed when a couple of weeks ago I got a cheque for around £30 from AI. At weekend I was just about to write a complaints letter when I stumbled across this forum, I realized the cheque related to my last payment to Sentinel in 2005, shortly after I cancelled the plan. I called AI on Saturday 31st Oct and a very helpful operator told me the Co-Op had sold me the plan dating back to 1993. I phoned the 0800 number for the Co-Op which AI provided on Monday and today (Weds) I received a cheque for £270!

Without MSE & the helpful people here this process may have taken so much longer, cheers everyone!

Phoned AI scheme services and quoted my ref number, they informed me I had the card cover from 2005 - 2009 (when I cancelled) but held it originally from 2002, then said something like I'd have to contact sentinel for those earlier years....unfortunately I can't remember what card issuer if any that I started with, anyone else in similar circumstances?

The call was a wee bit confusing, but I think she may have said call sentinel, but I thought that was who I was dealing with :(

If it is a case of dealing with sentinel, would I have to fill in another form, send a request, simply phone them , or like others have said, will it automatically get sorted without doing anything?

    Thanks for any info

I was paying Sentinel on my Barclaycard from 1992 - 2007.

AL Scheme from the separate court case has paid me £95 for 2005-2007.

Though I am pursuing Barclaycard for 1992-2004.

I have just received a letter from Barclaycard asking me where I would like any claim to be paid to? They stated they aim to let me know the outcome by 15/11/15.

I had a PPI claim settled by Barclaycard for PPI on my cards from 1992 - 2007. In that instance they paid me £4000 in 2014. I think the reason it was high as they couldn't actually tell me how much I was owed!

I am hoping for a postive outcome with my Sentinel claim!
  • AI scheme - I have received a form for my father, who sadly passed away in January. I don't know which of the templates apply - what do I put on the form?

  • I joined Card protection [CPP?] via my NatWest CC many years ago.
We , the family have been very pleased as it covers all of us at our addrees including lost keys , passports, etc. We have used it twice once when a handbag was mislaid and once when cards were stolen. Thankfully we haven't needed it more but it is there and the Sentinel office is extremely good.
I would have thought the redress scheme should provide damages for the parts of the scheme that were unnecessary, not simply refunding all costs with interest as all clients had some benefit from it.
We want to keep the product as it provides piece of mind, but will get nothing not even a nominal payment for the unnecessary parts!
