Yes but the woman keeps damaging your car ! If she kept doing it to mine i would leave it somewhere else even a different town ! You are unlikely to get much in compensation from her too .

You seem to know a lot about this lady ...do you know who/where here nearest relatives/carers live? It might be appropriate to show the footage to them so that they are aware of the situation.
  • I do know that her son has a range rover and comes by once a year. Dont really know him, but last year they had a row on the street when he said he wont see her ever again. Her daughter is enstranged too.

I did however ask my other neighbour for her son's details as she knows him and she is hppy to provide them for me. Problem is How to approach him?

Do I show the footage and be like "pay me because your mum is a nut" or threaten with police? Either way, since she is his mother, i am sure he will stand behind her as any son would do

If she's as horrible as you say, why should he?

Unless I'm missing something I can't see how the son would take responsibility for his mother's criminality and there would be nothing the police can do to him given that he's not the the suspect.

In the meantime you are building up a lot of evidence against her. One incident could have been passed off as coincidence but three or 4 on CCTV with an additional statement from you saying that new damage was caused on every occasion will make it hard for her to deny it.

Have you thought about what you want the police to do if and when they get to a charging decision? If she is no trace then she might be eligible for a simple caution, however the cost of the damage is adding up meaning that a charge sounds like the most appropriate outcome, however, depending on her financial circumstances, this might only result in a paltry fine and no recompense to you. You might ask for the police to consider an outcome either by way of conditional caution or some sort of court compensation which means that at very least she pays the cost of your excess when you get the damaged repaired.

What a horrible b****. Either nasty or has some sort of psychiatric condition. Either way, you should be entitled to legally park on your own road without her illegally damaging your legally owned property.

If she did it to my car, she would wake up to find someone had bricked-up her front and back doors so she could not get out of her house.

She would also be on the recieving end of a LBA for the costs of repairs, quickly followed by a Court claim if she failed to pay.

You need to grow some and take her on using the power of the Law at your disposal.

Why on earth do you keep parking outside her house ?
Because it's not her street. It's everyone's street and he has the right to park there so long as he pays his taxes, which he does.

She probably does, but at the risk of sounding a !!!!, I think the OP is doing the right thing taking the moral high ground and not damaging her vehicle in retaliation.

All faith has to lie with the police on this one. If they arrest her, I think it would be a fantastic piece of news for the OP and maybe proof that with enough pressure, they'll actually deal with criminals.
