The offer is still showing on Nationwide website.

I completed my application on Wednesday. The only email I have received to go into branch with ID. The account is not showing on internet banking yet.

Do I still need to go to the branch if I am existing customer?

I had exactly the same thing happen to me. I rang them up and their system had opened up a separate profile for me but they were able to merge the account onto my existing profile.

The next day email arrived to say the account was ready for us and a day later is now shown on my internet banking and did not need to go into the branch after all. However you will need to phone them if you do not want to go into a branch.

However make sure the email you originally registered with MSE is the same as the one on their system. Mine did not but managed to rectify
    online.

Nothing in spam so I called the MoneySuperRewards helpline who didn't even know if they were supposed to send emails out or not. TBH I only think they do because someone here mentioned it, but a manager is going to review it and call me back. Well, we'll see! The Nationwide account is fully open.

The email that I had about the cashback was from
    info@moneysuperrewards.co.uk
    with the heading -
Thanks for claiming your £100 cashback for switching current account

And my new account is also open and online today - fast work by Nwide.

I have just spoken to the dept running the campaign and they are now suggesting that your salary has to be paid into the account and direct debits need to be transferred across at the same time as the switch.

I have said there is nothing in the terms and conditions other than to qualify for the 5% interest you need to pay in £1000. Also nothing about direct debits.

As you say, the T&C say nothing about salary. I think that the info you were given is just the slightly odd interpretation many banks/customer services teams put on the concept of paying a large amount (£1000 in this case) in regularly. The just lazily assume it will be salary - and don't sometimes conceive that there could be any other way to pay in.

The DD point can be seen as similar lazy interpretation by customer service staff - there is no requirement for DDs in the T&C, so therefore there is definitely no need for them. That is absolutely clear. But in switching terminology, if there were any DDs on your old account, those would be transferred as part of the switch. That's what switching does. So you could interpret the insistence that DDs must be transferred as being just that - any DDs you have on the old account must be transferred. No argument about that either. But you don't actually have to have any DDs in the first place.

The thing with these offers is not to overthink them. Don't ring them up to clarify. The T&C are quite clear on the page advertising the offer (https://www.moneysuperrewards.co.uk/ - scroll down for the full T&C). Ringing an advisor up often leads to confusion as the advisor may not understand the offer, or may have themselves been misadvised. The T&C are binding terms, not the person's words on the phone.

    Hope that all makes sense.

How long did it take for your email to arrive from MSE?

I think I have messed up. I clicked through the above link and then onto the MSM application page showing the exclusive offer. I had cookies disabled so I copy and pasted the web address to another browser that has cookies enabled.
I started my application from this page :-
    https://www.moneysuperrewards.co.uk/?campaign=ListingDesktop

2 hours on I have had an email from Nationwide but not from MSM.
I expect that I had to click through from the MSM website to the above page.

    any suggestions?

The first email from MSE was within seconds of me applying, I then got one from Nationwide 10 minutes afterwards and the second one the next day.

I would suggest checking your spam folder, also others have suggested that the email you have used to register for this site needs to be the same as the one you used to apply for the account, not sure if this is true though...

    :-)

The link you have posted was the one I used and then I clicked through to Nationwide, so there was a trail...

Just checked and the second account is now showing on my internet banking, just need to wait for the switch to happen then count down 30 days to my £100 :-)
