  • The fact that i now know that I have been scammed makes me feel so crappy. Everything looked suspicious at the start, but the fact that i have been looking for a job for a while blinded on the thing things that didn't add up. After 3 weeks of trying to contact them after paying the £99, their phone number was disconnected and emails were never answered. Now that I think about it, they have never asked to fill a form in which asked for my address or any personal details at all. Can anyone tell me what to do next?
  • Hi,

What did you from then on? Did you receive your money back or anything like that?
  • Report it to the police via Action Fraud and contact your bank and tell them, a small chance they may be able to refund you
  • I had also been tricked into this scam after Tim Marshall had a telephone interview with me, i paid the £99.99 to .elitebackgroundchecks.com for a single check certificate for fraud..this is a fake company also who promises you a refund after i complained about the fake job offered from Tim Marshall...Tim Marshall is now recruiting for delivery force
This is so sad, i am angry i have been scammed and my personal details taken e.g. passport number (fortunatly passport had expired, N.I number and copied birth certificate along with my bank details), i notified Action fraud with all the info and received a crime reference number so they are dealing with it, also notified Experian credit agency...PLEASE DO NOT FALL FOR THIS SCAM, THEY WILL CLEAR THEIR ACCOUNT BEFORE YOUR BANK CAN CLAIM IT BACK THOUGH THEIR BANK.

An individual cannot get an enhanced DBS check on themselves. The employer must get an application for from the DBS, or a company registered to provide DBS checks, and get the applicant to complete it. The employer then sends the form to the DBS for processing and the certificate gets sent directly to the applicant. It's then down to the applicant to give the certificate to the employer.

There is no such thing as "a single check certificate".

Enhanced DBS checks are free for all voluntary positions. I have an enhanced certificate because I help out with the kids Karate class at my club. I don't get paid for it, so I got my DBS check for free.
