December 2015 Grocery Challenge HO HO HO!!!!

Hi Zippychick and all. I'm sorry I will have to sit December out if that's ok.
I didn't declare a total for November as I stayed in bed and breakfasts a few times and had no idea how to account for the breakfasts as it was all included in the price! I have a very ill family member who is in hospital far from home and it's all just got too complicated. Before this happened I was doing quite well and would have remained within budget I think.
She's still there so there will be more B and B stays in my immediate future and what with Christmas and all, I have decided to restart this challenge again in the new year.
So Merry Christmas to all and see you in 2016 Mortgage and debt free Mortgage and debt free 0 0

Rant away Coxy - quite understandable in the circumstances. I'd definitely just take it in next time and see if they have the 'front' to come looking for it :rotfl:I'm a bit annoyed.......Last Wednesday I went out of the house to discover a Riverford Organic veg box on my step. It was meant for number 130 and I am number 30. So I drove that way to work (normally walk) to drop the box off, they weren't in, but I put a note on the invoice explaining that it had been left by mistake. Next Wednesday the same thing happened, and again, I took the veg box up the road (50 houses!!) and put a note on the invoice saying please could they 'have a word' as next time I might just keep it!! Nothing - absolutely nothing from the occupier. No note, no popping by to say thanks, nothing. People are so flaming rude!
Aaaaah that's better. Sorry for the rant!
 Coxy

Gah! December's budget has been blown to Kingdom Come. We've been flooded very badly following the horrendous rain as the river burst in front and behind our property. Thigh high water and quite scary. Have lost both freezers, fridges and the entire kitchen ruined, plus the whole of the downstairs  No food except tinned items. Fully insured so it will all get sorted but *head in hands*...
I'm out until further notice, but I shall return...0

I have been working away all week and the only spend I can see by DH is £2.45 so doing well so far Those HM ready meals I left for DH have done the job Those HM ready meals I left for DH have done the job
We are having a treat of a chippy tea tonight as we are eating together on a Friday which is rare and DS is staying at DMIL on Saturday.
I am away most of next week too and food is paid for by work. There are lots of meals left for DH to eat but I will need to do a decent size shop this week for soap powder, a few household bits and some basics like milk, fruit and bread and snack food to eat following a cold, wet, muddy run DH and I are doing on Sunday. Will also buy some mince pies/Christmas choc cakes for the ones who don't like mince pies for my work clients which will come from this budget.Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%
 Pay off £7000 - £1743 - 19.4%
 Make £2021 extra income - £99.750
