I'm in again.
Official budget is £253.10, but I'm (again) hoping to not go over £200 - and again aiming to keep to spending no more than £105 in shops, though I think that might be more of a challenge this month.Cheryl0 -
Had our second shop of the month delivered on 29th September. Came to £55.67. A bigger shop this time as we were stocking up on cat food & litter but luckily got £10 off. So total spend so far is £85.26. We won't need to do a shop next week as we've got enough & will be away for 3 days. Doing well so far! Just hope it continues.Grocery Challenge: January: /£2140

Well our summer here seems to have finished as it's back to grey, cold and windy
Shopping yesterday was Mr T = £ 10 and A*di = £ 19.64 so a total of £ 29.64 to add to total for the month. Today is an NSD :j
Seem pretty well stocked atm. I have done meal plan for the month and looks like we will only need weekly fresh stuff such as milk, bread F & V etc.So thinking about going out to shop, we have a decent butcher in the next village and there's a greengrocer there too that I've never tried.....
Aldi is about 10 miles away, Lidl a bit further....
Could also make extra roasties but I'm not sure how well they freeze?
I've got 3 huge garlic bulbs that I bought last week, no idea why I bought them (the box they were in was pretty !) and no idea how I'll use them up.
With your A*di so far away you will have to get into the habit of making a list. I have a basic list of weekly things, and often-bought things, that I double check with each week and I also write down things as they start to get low.
I do extra roasties every week as DH likes them cut up and re-fried for a couple of minutes on Monday or Tuesday with almost anything :rotfl:
As for the garlic - have you tried soup. There's loads of recipes if you G**gle it and because it's cooked for a long time it's not strong but lovely and silky. Just the thing for the cough and cold season heading our way

I made a nice Gammon roast today in the slow cooker. I originally bought the tiny tiny piece to make a soup with this week but asda substituted with a much larger one :T .... so I made a roast and still have loads left to make soup tomorrow
. Thankyou asda another days dinner for free almost.

Hi! I'm in this month
Looking at our spending last month we spent £258 on groceries (inc cleaning products and toiletries).
I'd like to try and reduce that by 10% so I'll give an official total of £232.20. That's for me and OH; we have a baby as well but she's breastfed and we use cloth nappies & wipes so no cost there really!
We do seem to be terrible at planning meals and wasting food lately. Needs to stop asap!0 -
Yesterday was a NSD as planned.
However today isn't a NSD as I've just had to buy a blender, my old one wouldn't work at all today. I ended up trying to mash my celeriac soup! :rotfl:
I do count kitchen equipment with my grocery budget so I'm another £19.99 down. :mad:0 -

Well, as I've just come back from holiday I've just done some tiny shops to help me over the weekend. I think this evening's task is to do a freezer and store cupboard stock take and then menu plan. It's quite hard to plan round a student who's in and out all over the place (and eats quorn (other meat substitutes are available:p) when I'm a carnivore!). So if anyone has any tips on that score, I'd be very grateful.
I think the bomb is going to drop at the end of March 2016 - I'm expecting my hours to be slashed in half at work, so I'm battening down the hatches in anticipation, and saving as much money as I can.
