Does anyone else still use soap instead of shower gel in the shower?

We all use shower gel apart from my husband who says he can't get on with it, so I buy Imperial Leather soap for him. There's always shower gel on offer somewhere so I don't like to pay more than a £1 for it.Over futile odds
And laughed at by the gods
And now the final frame
Love is a losing game0 -
I just put the soap on the side of the bath (shower is over the bath). Soap dishes are a pain to wash.0

Bar of soap all the way. Something I got from my Dad. We had a new bathroom 3 years ago and that came with a soap dish - shop around!0

The only thing I've ever used shower gel for is teaching basic physics and doing consumer evaluations with primary school classes.
Marvellous stuff. Most kids can procure some and there are lots of differences between brands.
Me, I just use bar soap for everything, except my hair.0 -
Both! I use soap for the dirtier areas every time (armpits etc), and then I will only use the shower gel when I am sweaty/muddy from my exercise class. Using soap all over dries my skin out.0

I swapped from shower gel/cream to soap a year or so ago, much cheaper and lasts far longer too. I still use gel if I get it in a set or just cos I see an offer on in a fragrance that I fancy.0

Liquid hand wash and shower gel here, always bought on offer as there's no reason not to, I have a maximum price I will pay and no more0

Bar soap all the way - and not just as son had a skin graft and was advised to use Simple soap so I went & bought (what is turning out to be at least) a year's supply when it was on promotion at Morrisons.
That he was then issued with prescription stuff doesn't stop the rest of us needing to wash too and it's loads simpler to standardise on the one type with the medics' OK than run a fleet of variants. [When it gets squishy, it gets squooshed onto another bar. Lesson learned at mothers knee - waste not, want not.]
(We may be lucky on One sort of soap. I will not start in on the array of shampoos & conditioners, as being a longhair, 90% of the conditioners will be used by me.)0 -
My shower came with a soap dish, had new bathroom last year. I have a soap dish on the end of the bath too. I use soap and shower gel. Shower gel works better on the scrunchie than soap. I use Tescos copy of Dove soap, think it's called Pro ? Same as Dove but much cheaper.
I can't believe the poster who thinks soap dishes are a pain to wash !!!!! How hard is it to rinse it out each time before you put the soap in it ?0 -
Liquid hand washes, soaps for the shower.
When the piece gets a bit thin just get another bar out and squish together.
If you make sure it drains it don't get soggy.
If you have a shower upright rail there are after market dishes that fit.0
