Am I really one of the first to say gel? .

No, didn't you read #2?

Soap, and sometimes body shop moringa, old stocks acquired from special offers 2/3 years ago.
I always buy good soap spotted at church fètes etc. Grandmother's maxim of storing it in linen press holds good. It matures like good wine, lasts much longer, scents textiles.CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

I much prefer a bar of soap over shower gel. I only use Dettol Soap, albeit I do use a scrunchy when having a shower, I just lather the soap into it and apply with vigour.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

I don't often wear perfume, but if I do, I find it doesn't clash as the shower gels aren't that overpowering, and tbh some scents don't really last that long.0 -
I use shower gel. Soap annoys me, especially when the bar is starting to run out and gets to the small, awkward stage. I only use soap on the odd occasion that someone gives it to me for Christmas as I don't want to waste it. If there's a soap dish on the shower, I just use it to hold a razor.0

Unless I have been mud wrestling or taking an engine apart or similar the only chemicals that get on my skin are from shampoo (and whatever the water company sticks in our tapwater). No lotions, potions, scents - nothing.
I have a bath every morning in plain hot water (and in the evening too if I have had a sweaty day) and change my clothes frequently. I regard it as unhealthy and unnecessary to strip my skin of its natural oils and bacteria etc and then swamp it with deodourants, disinfectants and artifical "perfume". I keep a bar of soap in the kitchen for really grubby hands - it used to be Fairy soap but sadly that's not made any more.
I am always dubious about people who smell strongly of perfume or deodourant - I assume it's to disguise the fact that they rarely wash.0 -
Only when I'm going away; as it's easier to get through customs. But other than that, I use shower gel.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

I only use liquid hand wash and shower gel. You can but yourself a soap dish for the shower if you want one though.0

Another soap person. Our local T K Maxxx always have a selection of really nice Italian and French ones. Love the scents.0

My Mum used to buy bar soap then unwrap it and put it in our clothes drawers as it made the clothes smell nice and Mum said it made the soap harder and it would last longer.
A couple of years ago I got as a gift some Body Shop lemon soap. I unwrapped it and put it in my linen cupboard to make the sheets and quilts smell nice. Forward a couple of years, I turned my linen cupboard out and found the lemon soap......it smelled of nothing. No trace of lemon at all. I popped it on my sink and used it to wash my hands over the next couple of days.....still no lemon smell. I took it downstairs and grated it up so I could add it in my laundry.....no lemon smell. I popped a tablespoon in my washing machine, when the washing was finished at the bottom of the drum was a clod of lemon coloured soap (that didn't smell of lemons). I chucked the rest away!
I always thought Body Shop stuff was natural and good quality.......? Mum has Bronley and Yardly soap in her clothes drawers that still smell good years later. Anyway, I digress. It's shower gel and liquid soap for me unless I'm on holiday, then a huge chunk of Lush Kharma soap is a must.0
